An inn or motel has more integrity than this
I arrived at this hotel and was greeted by the front desk. I checked in and went up to my room. When I went up to my room I happened to find there was no tv remote for the tv. I went down to the front desk to ask for a remote and they gave me a random remote that had no identification on it to tell me it belonged to the tv in my room. I tried it and it didn’t work. So I couldn’t use the tv. I unpacked and wanted to go take a shower but only to find mold on the caulking around the tub, the plate around the shower head hanging off the wall on the pipe, and the shower curtain was filthy and had residue stains on it. I give credit where it’s deserved. The bed was made nice and it was clean. AC was cold and it was quiet some of the time other than the cleaning maid trying to barge into my room while I was trying to sleep or relax.

Don’t expect breakfast
Check in went fine, room could be cleaner, especially the bathroom. Breakfast was terrible. Arrived 8:30 am and no tables available. After 10 minutes got a table and one chair. Never got another chair for about 5 minutes. Got last scoop of eggs and there was no breakfast meat left. The orange juice was water. So I made us a waffle but the syrup container was so full of syrup on the outside that I needed a napkin…no napkins! What they had were small drink napkins like you get in a bar. Really cheap forks and knives. This hotel gets bad marks because of poor management and oversight!!

I have stayed here numerous times. Great location off Interstate 95 and maybe a 10 minute drive to the historic area of St Augustine. That said the room smelled heavy with cleaning solution maybe something else. The exterior lighting at night could be better. Just look at the competition literally next door and their place looks lively and inviting this La Quinta just looks a little dim and not so inviting. Finally is there anyone that works the front desk that has any personality at all? No! Hey they get the job done but this crew is not capable of pleasantries and cordiality. Try a hello, how are you today or glad you’re here. I don’t know if they’re in pain or not so happy with the job but fake it and smile if you can’t do anything else. Yes I’ll stay again because overall it’s a decent place with good value.
