Magical stay
Amazing stay at Hotel Dell’Opera. Hotel is very central literally at the heart of Venice and very reasonable considering it’s only a street away from the high end shopping district & literally a 6 minute walk to Piazza San Marco. The hotel is charming with a winding staircase that gives your stay a dash of fairytale romance. My room though basically furnished was large and based in the attic giving it a high, wood beamed ceiling and stunning view of the canal the hotel is nestled on. It was a treat to open the windows and watch the Gondolas sail past while Gondoliers sang a mix of opera to classics like Volare. Staff were amazing, really helpful and accommodating, and the included breakfast was a feast. Added bonus to my stay was my room was situated at the base of the stairs which lead up to a private roof terrace which lets you look out over the roofs of Venice and the dome of the Santa Maria della Salute basilica. Already planning a second trip to Venice and will be staying at the Hotel Dell’Opera in the same room again. PS the restaurant vino vino below the hotel is excellent.

Venice stop over.
The hotel was very clean and tidy and the staff extremely helpful. The room, like many hotels, could do with a bit of refurbishment, but overall a hotel I would recommend. We only stayed at the hotel for one night as we were staying in Tuscany and drove in to Venice for a couple of days, but on my next visit to Venice, will certainly use this hotel again.

Highly recommend
We stayed here to go to the Opera. The staff were really friendly and helpful, gave us restaurant tips. Location is just perfect, room lovely, right on a canal so water taxi to the mainland was really easy. Loved this hotel. The only thing misleading was the 'terrace' which is actually a tiny balcony with limited views, but this didn't impede on our stay at all.

Eh- it’s ok
Nice hotel, on a tiny canal. Rooms are large, but the beds and especially the pillows are horribly uncomfortable. Hotel site states they have airport shuttle, what they don’t tell you is that it is not courtesy of the hotel, it is them calling a private water taxi that costs €150 plus tip. They also don’t warn you that if waters are rough, your ride could be canceled or redirected. All in all, it was a fine experience. But the price was high considering the location and comfort of the room- oh; and their lies about shuttle to the airport.
