Comfortable and convenient
Very pleasant hotel and conveniently situated. Had a club room with a harbour view, which I thoroughly recommend. Only negative aspect was the breakfast which was rather uninspiring and the same everyday (6days).

Good price but you get what you pay for.
I don't really understand why Shangri la have attached that brand name to the Jen. The Jen is very much a budget brand hotel, similar to Ibis and Holiday Inn. They've tried to make it boutique in feel but you can't get away from tiny, noisy rooms (I seemed to be able to hear everyone's toilet flush from mine), a poor bar in the lobby area (the nice rooftop bar in the photos is just for the executive club customers) and a very limited room service menu. As long as your expecting that then it's a good hotel at a good price, but be clear that it's not a Shangri la and it's not a four star hotel. It's conveniently near to a metro station (well, an entrance to the station - it's still quite a hike to the station itself) but the area itself is pretty dead.

Great location, not quite 4 stars
This hotel is in a great location right beside the HKU MTR stop. It's rooms are small, more akin to a budget hotel, with no proper bathroom, only a glass screen and doors separating the shower, toilet and room lobby (no bath) and the sink and vanity unit in the room lobby. There is limited storage, so for the two of us who were staying a week and are fairly light travellers, whilst we got more coat hangers, store some clothes in our cases, it left the room cluttered. The highlight of the room was the view of the harbour which are amazing ( I would note that whilst you cannot see the city centre). The hotel is tired and is in need of refurbishment, the shower tiles were coming of the walls in our first room, but in fairness to the staff as soon as we mentioned this they moved us. The beds and bedding are comfortable, and overall met our requirements. We stayed in a club room, which give us access to the club lounge on the 28th Floor, this was great, we had breakfast there and they had a complementary cocktail hour (actually 2 hours) every night with snacks. The staff who looked after us in the lounge were great, really helpful and knowledgeable about the area and things to do, and on our last day organised a late check-out to 3 pm free of charge. The cost of food and drinks from the hotel bar and restaurant is extortionate, but there is no shortage of places to eat or drink surrounding the hotel at a fraction of the cost and much better quality.

Great hotel, good location, very comfortable
Location was food MTR station very close, and free area shuttle if required. Room was very comfortable and clean, bed was huge. Didn't have breakfast and didn't use restaurant in hotel so can't comment. Lots of amenities near by. Would stay again.

Excellent value for money, clean hotel
Good value for money, a little out of the way, however, the hotel has a free shuttle bus service to get to the central station. Which gives you easy access to the Star Ferry. Contemporary, modern interior. Shower and toilet doors are smoked glass, so not altogether private but we got used to it.Rooms very well appointed and clean, bath robes, slippers, tea/ coffee facilities. Local area is not very touristy for sightseeing, it is more for the the local residents which is interesting in itself. Fascinating local markets and individual shops.Taxis are very cheap and accessible from the hotel entrance. Staff very friendly and helpful. We had a club room which is well worth the upgrade to include breakfast, evening food and drinks overlooking the harbour.
