Do yourself a favour & stay somewhere else.
Many people have mentioned the temperature of the rooms here. I stayed in mid October & the room was still ridiculously hot during the day. The window is restrained & only opens 3 inches so not much chance to cool the room down. Slept on top of sheets without blanket but still very uncomfortable. Upon checking-in i was pressured to sign up to the hotel's mailing list & book with them directly in future (instead of using a 3rd party website). My booking would actually have cost £10 more if it was done directly with Ibis / Accor over the saving i made by using hotels.com. They seem to presume that their customers are stupid & perhaps we are for staying there in the first place! I am returning to Bristol next month but would not stay here again. There are much better options available at this price.

Basic but convenient for City Life
We were in Bristol to see Lord of the Dance at the Hippodrome. We'd travelled by train into Temple Meads and the Ibis is a very easy stroll away from the Station, and it took us around 15 minutes. The Hotel is very basic, quite clean apart from the entrance steps which did not give a very good first impression. We were allocated room 206 on the second floor, accessed by a lift. This is a twin bedded room equipped for people with a disability. For a one night stay it is very conveniently located as it is possible to walk along the river path into the City Centre, which we did, and this took around 20 minutes at a steady pace. The route is brightly lit at night, so we had no qualms about walking back to the Hotel after dark. There is however a bus into the Centre from the Station. There is substantial construction work currently being carried out adjacent to the Hotel and our room overlooked this. It wasn't a problem for us because we were very interested to see the work being carried out. We did not eat at the Hotel; however, there is a very nice wine bar within a few metres, a Weatherspoons and a couple of other cafes within metres. The Ibis Bristol is a basic Hotel which needs little TLC to improve its image, but the staff there were very friendly and helpful when we had a minor problem with the room. We would stay there again when visiting Bristol.

Does the job but bring earplugs
Staff were great, friendly and helpful. Room is a good standard of basic. Only downside is that sound travels.. the windows were not sound proof so I could hear the trains... you can hear people walking around outside and in different rooms... and in my case, a drunken couple have a full blown row at 2am (not the fault of the hotel or staff.. I was even offered a free breakfast when I mentioned it to the staff..). So maybe take earplugs

Good hotel
Nice hotel with very helpful and friendly staff. Limited menu but good value and pretty tasty. No car park but there is a lay-by /loading bay which can be used from 6 pm to 8 am which was fine for me as I was working but would have been annoying if you wanted a lie in!

close to temple meads railway station
a one night stay while out for the night in bristol and bath. very convenient for the railway station (2 min walk). modern new hotel in a area being regenerated, starbucks and a weatherspoons nearby (2 mins). We only booked this hotel because Trivago, Hotels.com etc all say that it has a FREE CAR PARK. IT DOES NOT HAVE A CAR PARK AND THEREFORE IT ISNT FREE EITHER. The staff were very helpful and sorted out the issue quickly and very well. There is a pay car park that is secure and £13.50 for 24hrs 2 min walk away. Its a £6.00 Uber to the city centre for the bars etc. Breakfast was very nice. The room and the communal areas were too warm and you could not control the temperature in the room at all. The bedrooms are not as nice as premier inn. There were blood stains on the "extra" pillow in the wardrobe which wasnt great but i had to use it as it was the only one extra. Staff very really nice and very chatty and helpful throughout our stay.
