Excellent Location, decent staff, cramped room
Location is awesome. There's no question about that. Just 2-3 minutes away from both national train station AND underground metro station, also within walking distance from the British Museum (15mins). It doesn't get much better than that. Staff was pretty friendly which was nice as well. I assume it's the way London is, but the hotel has a lot of "space" issues. Even the front desk reception is super cramped. And the fact that you need to walk half a floor of stairs to even get to the front desk means that everyone who comes in will be lifting up luggage in the air. I suppose you can ask the staff for help if you need any, but still not the best idea. Room wise, the usual features are all there, but the room itself was very small. Like, no-space-for-opening-a-second-suitcase small. My wife had to put her smaller suitcase by the window platform and managed her stuff there, because I took up that ONE spot on the floor. At least the bathroom size was very manageable so that's good. There was a window but no view. So it really depends on how you prioritize different aspects for your visit. Do you need a convenient place to easily get around? Do you need a comfy place to relax after day of hard work? Are you traveling alone or with another person? All in all the room looks perfect for an efficient lone traveler who doesn't need fancy rooms. Beyond that, I'm not too positive on recommending this kind of room to my friends.

Might not be what you expected
The pictures on Hotels.com were misleading. The regular rooms are much smaller. The elevator is incredibly slow and even got stuck once while we were there prompting us to chose the several flights of stairs after a long day of walking. When told about the discrepancy about room size I was invited to pay an additional $100/ night to stay in the jubilee suite (I think that’s the name). Staff was friendly enough and provided basic information about the area.

Second stay very disappointing
This is my second stay at the Wesley. Last time it was good value for money, comfortable, quiet and a good location for what I needed to do in London. Also a 24 hour reception right at the door was reassuring for security. The staff on both stays were helpful, polite and friendly. The second stay was a disappointment. It was significantly more expensive, but I accepted that for the benefits above. However there were maintenance issues i the room; bedside bulb out, safe needed reset and also batteries (which were so corroded they must have been like that for months). A window didn't close, although there was secondary glazing. The carpet had an ugly stain at the bathroom door. The maintenance guy did come quickly and sorted the lamp and the safe with good humour. The night's sleep was terrible. The bed was next to the window and there was a constant freezing draft. It was only a single, so no room to just move over. The bed creaked loudly every time I moved and in the early hours I woke to find the sheet all twisted. It turned out it was a double sheet, halved. The sheet therefore did not tuck in or cover the whole mattress. So at 2 am, I was remaking the bed. I discussed this with the reception manager in the morning and she was apologetic and took note of all of the issues. A partial refund would have been offered but not possible because the booking was through Expedia. It's shame, I thought I had found a gem.

The Wesley Euston St London
We were given an upgrade on arrival to a suite, which to be honest looked just like what we ordered in the first place. A double bed with a sofa bed. There was my self and my 2 boys/men 17 and 24. When we entered the room the carpet was BADLY stained, which made the rest of the room feel dirty when it wasn't. But the carpet was in real bad shape. Room otherwise was clean and toy. There is regular noise underneath the hotel from the trains as it is only 100 mrs from euston station. However, bizarrely it didn't keep us awake at all. We were exhausted from our day but honestly it didn't keep us awake. We upgraded for £3 each to the ubiquitous full english breakfast from continental buffet. Good move. Restaurant isn't big but does the job. The Hotel appears to be totally staffed by ladies from all over the world. And with out a man in site, they are doing a great job. The Hotel appears to have a religious history, previously named something to do with the Methodist church, now names after Methodist founder John Wesley. This explains the pumping tunes coming from the basement on Sunday morning as a modern church service belted upwards through the rooms. Again not offensive though, it is Sunday after all. Overall, very convenient for Euston we left our bags for the day so we could collect and get on the train that night. Value for money, well we paid £234 for 3 adults in a room. So for central London just about right.

Very friendly accommodating staff..check in was easy and they looked after our bags until while we went exploring, ideal location with a few minutes walk from Euston station. Comfy clean room and clean shower room. Ordered a club sandwich on room service and it was huge and delicious. The only down side was there was on 1 twin socket outlet in the room..need more!
