Nice hotel but a couple of downsides
Very nice room, comfy bed. Very clean. Breakfast great choice and cooked breakfast lovely. Some waiting staff very curt or had to be called to ask for tea, coffee at breakfast. Pool not bad but beware lockers unsecure. Swimming lessons took up pool when I visited so had to wait 15 mins to go in and sauna out of order. Location next to run down shopping centre but bus stop outside hotel. Taxis to centre varied btwn 16/20 euros.

The dining room has glazing that prevents noise from adjacent motorway bedrooms don’t why?

My husband and I had a two night stay in the Clayton Hotel Galway at the beginning of the month. A very pleasant welcome was experienced in this hotel, especially from Ashling at the Reception Desk. She could not have been more helpful. We did have a few problems with our room and breakfast but we feel we must comment on the professional and generous manner in which the General Manager dealt with our complaint. He was extremely prompt in contacting us, took all our comments on board and has been very helpful and generous, courteous and efficient in all his dealings with us. He is a man of his word and that is a rare commodity in the business world of today. Staff were all extremely friendly and helpful. The beds in this hotel are so comfortable. There is a safe in the room, and iron and ironing board and tea/coffee making available. We had a problem with the heating system in the room when we arrived. I rang Reception and it was corrected immediately. The location of the hotel is a little distance outside the City but the very regular bus service is super. The bus stop is right outside the front door of the hotel and the bus takes you into Eyre Square. Parking at the hotel is very convenient and plenty of spaces are available. We want to take this opportunity to wish Mr. Fitzpatrick and his staff well for the future.
