Travel for work and experience lots of hotels, is is by far the worst one I have stayed in for a long time. Unclean, room clearly not even hoovered, walls dirty in room and corridors, smells a mix of damp and smoke. IHG should be ashamed of this hotel, I regularly use your services in the north east and not had a bad experience yet…. This property needs serious attention quickly.

I read a lot of reviews ahead of time, so was worried - but honestly, The Holiday Inn in Ashford was really perfect for me this weekend - and I am a pretty harsh critic. I was working nearby, and the combination of the incredibly helpful and kind staff, the renovated room and very comfortable bed, the working (albeit I couldn’t change the temperature) air conditioning, the nice shower…. It was everything I needed and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone else. Because of the renovations, I didn’t have a fridge, a safe, or any water, but I believe that will be remedied soon, and the bar were only too happy to give me ice and water. Also, thanks to other reviews, I knew to ask if it was possible to have a renovated room, which they gave me, and I think that made a big difference.

One night stay with dogs before an early tunnel to France the next morning. Staff were friendly if inexperienced but the hotel is really tatty. Scruffy carpet, doors with frayed bottoms and patches where finger panels used to be. Paintwork peeling and air con which was ineffective and couldn’t alter the temperature. We were told this was because of maintenance works. Staff provided fans but this really isn’t good enough. God knows what it was like during the heat wave. Didn’t have breakfast as leaving really early.

Great place to stay close to Ashford .

Very good,all staff from reception to cleaners very polite and cheerful and helpful. The room was really comfortable and spacious. The dining room was lovely,the breakfast selection was excellent and very tasty. We shall be visiting the area again in late November early December for about a week and will definitely book again with you.

Great location

Stayed here for 2 nights while working in the Kent area and it’s a great hotel. Large free car park if you are a resident and you must register your number plate in reception, really friendly lady on reception. I requested a high floor and that’s what I received. Nice sized room which you would expect from Holiday Inn, decent restaurant and bar area with a nice beer garden. Would recommend if staying in the middle of Kent and not far from Dover.

The hotel staff was friendly with a professional attitude. A mini fridge in the room would have been nice and a toilet brush in the bathroom as well. Overall a good stay considering the air conditioning which was a big plus.

Arrived and was greeted very nicely by a member of staff at reception. I have a few mobility issues even tho not disabled but he found me a ground floor room with walk in shower. Room was nice and clean and a very comfy bed. Was for 4 nights and everything was great. Would definitely return when back down in area.

Menu very poor as little choice of mains! Was told we were not able to use the restaurant due to coach tours being prioritised over other paying guests. We were accommodated in the bar and told menu choice was same as in restaurant but felt ‘pushed out’ because the restaurant was full with tour parties.. Staff were very friendly and accommodating and often seemed over worked! Would have to think twice before booking again due to the lack of menu choice and restaurant seating availability we experienced!

Not up to expectations

We rang to check what time food was available until and were told the restaurant was open until 9.30. When we got there the restaurant was closed for a function!! We ate off a very limited bar menu in our room which was not ideal. The key card stopped working so my husband went to reception where he stood in a queue with 3 more people with the same problem and a very grumpy receptionist telling them all it was their fault! The hotel and facilities were good but the receptionist ( male) was rude and the bar staff grumpy and poorly trained
