Best location in Mammoth
The only downside was the noisy and not very efficient air con, and the lumpy unaffordable pull out bed. We had a one bed apartment with full kitchen which was great. Fabulous location.

nice stay
Lovely hotel. Room facing the pool was great, as we had one facing the car park at first. Changed it no problem. Shower good. Underground parking with free access in and out. Looks great if you are into skiing. We used it as a stop off from Yosemite to Vegas.

One Night In Mammoth
We stayed only one night at the Village Lodge in Mammoth Lakes, on our way back to Las Vegas. The location could not be better. it is pretty much a few steps from the bottom of the gondola and within the village so shops, restaurants, bars, cafes etc are within a couple of minutes. We left early, and went for breakfast at Toomeys - fabulous pancakes and such friendly staff - first class. We turned up early, the room was ready, the check-in was good and simple, check out was via a quick phone call, which was handy because we needed to be away early the next morning. The accommodation in Mammoth is obviously used a lot by skiers during ski season - and usually ski accommodation is as basic as they can get away with (certainly this applies to Europe, Australia and New Zealand). This, however, was much more spacious and better fitted than I expected. The bathroom was the only one in 30 nights in the US (and some very expensive hotel stays) with 2 sinks! The bathroom was a good size. The downside was the bed - it was probably the worst in the 30 nights we were there - it appeared to be a fold-away-up-on-the-wall kind of bed, and had a large gap between the mattress and the headboard and I felt as the mattress sloped down to my head, so that my feet felt they were higher than my head - not condusive to good sleep.

Amazing Prices for ski lodge during summer.
We really enjoyed our stay at the village lodge when visiting Yosemite national park. Price we paid was a bargain for a two bed room apartment to share with my wife and her parents for three days. It was very quiet for this time of year, but what do you expect from a ski resort in late summer/early fall. Bed rooms and bath rooms where of a very high standard and this sitting room was very great to relax in at the end of the day. One word of warning, this place maybe 45 mins away from Yosemite's east gate entrance, but you then need to drive a further 1 hour 45 mins to the national park visitor centre....we enjoyed the drive, but it was trashing to do two days on the trot, but we had three drivers on our trip to share the load. Hope this helps!

Cosy Hotel
The Village Lodge Hotel was lovely. We stayed in a one bedroom apartment which was nice and cosy. Loved the fireplace, it made it feel really homely and was simple to use. The kitchen has everything you need to cook your own food. We didn't realise you had to provide your own toilet roll though as housekeeping didn't replenish any once you ran out, which I find very strange! Staff at reception were very helpful. Unfortunately when we visited most of the resort was closed, which we were not aware of. Lots of bars and Restaurants around, a few were open, but most were closed for the season. Also some opened later than advertised, leaving us with little to do. Shops in the village are very expensive, including the general store. We had to pay a small tourism tax on everything we bought (food and drinks etc), which we didn't know about. We also had to pay the hotel a small tourism tax (this is on top of the usual US tax you pay).
