Good location, small rooms, disappointing gym
5 between Xmas and NY nights at this hotel. The location & Starbucks in the lobby cafe were by far the best aspects. Lots of little things made the overall stay just average. The removal & non replacement of bath soap was odd, took 3 days for 3 towels to finally be put in a room for 3 (we asked several times) & also for tissues to be refilled. The gym was basic & tiny but I still made regular use of it. Our young teenage daughter was forced to pay by card or cash for her room service despite room charge being arranged. Was told we didn’t open credit but this procedure was not mentioned at check in. The staff were friendly & helpful enough but there were too many inconsistencies. The rooms are pretty tight for more than a night or 2, but the location made up for that

We were in no way disappointed
We booked on the basis of an enjoyable stay at a Crowne Plaza hotel in a different city and were not disappointed. Room was comfortable and stylish with complimentary toiletries and at no time during our stay did we hear anything from adjoining rooms. Friendly staff Enjoyable breakfast with comprehensive choice but it would have been an expensive add-on if you didn't pre-book the inclusive rate. Friendly and helpful staff. Despite the central location, traffic noise was never a problem

Birthday Weekend Away.
After some difficulties parking around the hotel upon arrival we decided to opt for the Valet Parking which was fine. As we were booked in for afternoon tea at Hotel Gotham and were running a bit late due to the parking issues, we asked if our bag could be taken up to our room, which was greeting with a look of 'if i must' from the receptionist. However when we did return to the hotel later that evening we were impressed with the cleanliness and high standard of the room. I decided to order some room service, which was lovely if a little pricey (£22 for a bottle of wine.) My partner was awake early the following morning and decided she wanted to order some breakfast, so after ringing through after a bit of a wait, she was greeted with someone saying she had to order before 2am (even though it was 24 hr service) and then got hung up on. So we headed out for breakfast after checking out and said we would return for the car, to which we were told it would take approx. 20/30mins for it to be brought back . As we returned from breakfast we noticed our car sat in a car park across the road from the hotel. After requesting its return we were sat in the lobby for over 45 mins. When i decided to see where the car was i noticed it parked on the front of the hotel, but no one had decided to let us know it was there. So overall the hotel itself is definately worth a visit, if let down by staff who appear to dislike doing there jobs!!

Exceptional 10.0
High quality, good value. Walking distance from Shudehill tram stop which provides quick access to Deansgate/Castlefield and easy access to and from the Airport. City centre in walking distance. The hotel is juxtaposed between rundown and modern Manchester, but don’t be put off as access and convenience far outweighs this. Having lived previously in Manchester for over 25 years, I feel I am in a position to say this. Hotel breakfast is okay, which didn’t encourage me to eat in the hotel.

Amazing stay, very central.
I booked this hotel as a treat for my best friend's birthday. The location is so central but not noisy which is a big bonus. The hotel is very accessible to all the places we want to go from shops to bars. On arrival we were greeted by not so approachable staff at the check-in desk. He seems to be not happy working at that time, no smile but a scowl facial expression. But i thought never mind as i will not have to deal with him until checkout (hopefully not). Otherwise it was a fabulous stay. Our room which was a 2 double bed twin room was amazing. The bed was so comfortable with fresh sheets. The room was well lit and well ventilated. The breakfast was good too. All in all great stay for a weekend away. The desk staff needs to smile more and must exude approachability. No need to be scowly. I have stayed at many hotels, mostly 5-stars (not to brag) and the desk staff are the face of the hotel. It doesnt cost a thing to smile especially in hotel business. On the plus i will still stay here and recommends this hotel to my friends, just ignoring the scowly faced desk staff.
