Wonderful Ballsbridge hotel
Beautifully redecorated since our visit there in 2016. Spacious, modern hotel. An excellent breakfast buffet. Don’t hesitate to book!

Clayton Hotel, Ballsbridge, Dublin.
Lovely hotel, very imposing frontage made it easy to find from the airport shuttle coach (€14 return). Reception staff were friendly and knowledgeable. Room was clean and being on the sixth floor, had views over the hills. Large bar and restaurant area in the basement was a welcoming and relaxing place to eat/drink. Alternatively, there are a handful of pubs and restaurants within 5 mins walk, on the main road. The only thing to note is that if you're wanting to walk into Dublin city centre, it took around 40 minutes. However, there is a bus stop right outside the hotel with frequent buses into the city. Lansdowne Road Dart stop is also fairly close.

Clayton Hotel Ballsbridge
An old hotel with modern restaurant.
A pleasant hotel in Ballsbridge, not far from the city centre. The building has been converted. The bedrooms are large if a little old-fashioned, but very comfortable. There is a new bar and restaurant which are very modern. Prices can vary, so book early to get a good deal.

Stay here, for business or pleasure.
I really enjoyed staying here for so many reasons: the price, the location, the standard of my room, the comfort, the interior and grounds of the hotel. There were two small points that could be improved, although neither of these would deter me from staying again. In fact, I'd be keen to. 1. At both check in and check out there weren't enough staff to deal with the amount of guests. This resulted in delays to everyone in the queue. It became more of a problem for me at check out, as I needed to leave for a business meeting but was stuck in a slowly moving queue. 2. I noticed there were some old stains on almost all my bath towels. They weren't dirty, just discoloured but it was still off-putting and I didn't want to use them. Perhaps buying new towels would make a difference.
