If u look for good service & quality go elsewhere
Chose a different option if you can... 2 nights - 1'000 euros. I know its London, but still its not peanuts and certain level of quality can or should be be expected. Upon arrival we were told that our suite was in ... another building. As we came for the conference in the same hotel going in and out of the building was not an option. It was a studio suite, looking quite nice on the pictures. We came back to the reception asking to change the for the same standard but inside the hotel building. We were told they were sold out but apparently there was one room left on the first floor and we could have it. I agreed and asked if it was of the same standard. We were told yes. When we came to the room it was a dark and gloomy space with a destroyed fridge frame and...room adjusted to incapable persons (lots of support all over the place, lower sink, shower with plastic cover straight on the floor, etc. I am not a picky person and after 8 hours journey i did not care much so we stayed. Last day i came to the reception and asked for a delayed checkout as our plane was leaving late. I commented on the fact that nobody has even notified us that we would have a different both standard of the room and type. I was told i could stay longer but each hour would cost 20GBP additionally. I paid, but i decided to share this experience here and recommend to avoid. Not a friendly place with unhappy stuff at reception.

Poor 2.0
VERY bad (!) and unexpected experience staying
Hello there Me and my wife stayed at your hotel 16.-18. March at room 559. Saturday night we went to your reception because we needed help figuring out what train to take the next morning, to get our flight to Copenhagen at 7:55 am from Gatwick. One of your men, Constantin, convinced us NOT to take the train because of the risk missing it and delays. "With a taxi you can always trust your departure time and be 100% sure you are leaving right on time" was his exact words and he Said it several times. We Said to him we never had been in London before and he had to help us plan the trip for the airport and agreed he could book us a taxi and Then he planned what time we need to take it to be in the airport without any hurry. He booked the taxi to 5:30 and promised it Will be ready in front of the hotel the next morning and ensured This was A great descision, because the train was not to trust. Also he told us we could pay with creditcard in the taxi. Next morning at 5:30 there was no sign of any taxi. We asked your staff and they Said it Will be there in a minute. 5:35 we asked again and now we were told the taxi broke Down and was delayed! The taxa Company would send another car so we still was able to Make it in time for the airport. At 5:40 the taxi was still not there and we asked if we had to take another taxi (Black taxi) in stead but your staff continued telling us that their taxi was just about to be there and that we still had time to reach the airport.

Leonardo St Paul’s is not what it seems
Poor service in relation to a complaint regarding the room, broken air con unit & lamp. The pictures on hotels.com are not reflective of the actual rooms used. We booked the Leonardo but we were placed in an annex opposite the Leonardo which was still badged as the Grange hotel. The room which was advertised as an executive room was in fact nothing more than a normal standard room. We rang twice to reception to convey our feelings & disappointment at the room and we were told the manager was dealing with this. After an hour with no response we left due to a prior appointment. On arrival back there was still no communication & the air con was still not fixed. The view was of a brick wall opposite the hotel where occupants could see directly into the room which want you had to keep the curtains closed. As this was a special treat for our 25th wedding anniversary one of the attractions was the roof top bar area with views over looking the cathedral. Unfortunately this was closed for our stay for a private party, there was nothing to inform us of this & when we tried to enter we were given no apology but told to go back down stairs. On check out I was asked to pay for items I hadn’t used as they had my name mixed with someone else’s. Again there was still no reply if correspondence to our original issues raised on checking into the room.

Not a 5 Star
A spectacular looking hotel once you are inside but after that it's all pretty nondescript. It was not busy but the lifts are next to useless and take ages to arrive - it actually became a standing joke with all the other lift travellers. When it actually got busy, so many people were waiting that we started to think they were out of order. The room itself was nothing spectacular but had some strange design concepts - firstly, the room overlooks the central atrium which is fine but the window goes fully from wall to wall and floor to ceiling so you really have to keep the curtains closed at all time which kind of defeats the idea of the atrium. Secondly the TV is a tiny one which you'd find in a dodgy B & B; it's fixed to the wall but doesn't swivel and it's offset in relation to the bed so it's next to useless if you want to watch in bed. The shower itself had pretty measly pressure and the rose was clogged up thus sending water in every direction except where you need it. Breakfast was part of the deal but if you paid separately it was £23. Now whilst I personally think this is excessive to say the least, I wouldn't mind if the quality was good. The bacon looked & tasted like it had been microwaved, it had been sitting in the warming plate for some time & had gone soggy, the scrambled egg, I suspect was powdered and the fruit selection was dry - again, it must have been standing for some time.

Weekend break
We we’re upgraded free of charge as it was our wedding anniversary, which I had stated in the booking. Our room wasn’t ready on arrival so we put our cases in our friends room (also upgraded free for their anniversary) Unfortunately on checking into our room later there was a strong smell of smoke. We were given a different room with apologies which was still the upgrade & no smell of smoke. We didn’t eat at the hotel & was disappointed to find the roof bar wasn’t open. We had drinks in the sports bar instead. Staff friendly on reception & even more so in the sports bar. Air con in our room (532) was very noisy but needed to be on through the night as the automatic temperature kept going back to 25 which was too stuffy for us. Bathroom had a bath & separate shower which just sprayed enough to wet you. Certainly not a power shower. The area around the hotel is clean & felt safe. Less than a minutes walk to St. Paul’s Cathedral. St. Paul’s tube is the nearest & easy enough to get around London from there. I’d stay here again but hopefully in a room with quieter air con & a stronger shower. Although we went up to floor 7 to look at the view.
