Needs a refurb
Hotel was fine. Staff were really welcoming. Public areas need a major uplift. It looks very tired

Overpriced, tired and in need of staff training
Used to be a good quality hotel but now seriously tired and in need of refurbishment. The rooms are nothing like they look on the website - really shabby with worn carpets, peeling paint, bumpy beds and sagging sofa's. The bar could not even serve a Gin & Tonic in the correct glass: had to change the small tumbler for a wine glass as there was no room for the tonic! Can't actually find anything good to say about it other than the location. Massively overpriced.

Good Riverside Hotel
Stayed at the Mercure Thames Lodge for one night. The room (5) that I had was on the ground floor with views of the river. The room also had patio doors so you could go straight out to the towpath. It would be lovely to stay there in the summer. I had a drink in the bar and they were playing this music (but I would not be that polite) I decided to eat in town instead. I will definitely be staying there again when I next need to stay in Staines.

Nice place to stay for a couple of nights
We've stayed several times. It's a nice hotel and the staff are very friendly and helpful. It's beautifully located right by the Thames and the courtyard, when the sun is out, and you can watch the river go by, is lovely. The hotel itself could do with a bit of TLC. It's clean, the food is good. the beds very comfortable, but the building itself needs a bit of attention.
