The hotel is beautiful, peaceful, and feels like an oasis in La Fortuna. The staff was so nice and helpful. They helped book all our tours, they even prepared us breakfast to go when we left early on our departure day. The property is so well kept and the hot springs are great to relax in after exploring and hiking. The restaurant on site has delicious food. Beautiful, comfortable, clean. The included breakfast was great and had several options. The farm in the back of the property was a huge hit with our family. There was daily cow milking, egg collecting and pony rides. We saw a couple sloths on the property, too! Hotel is about a 10 minute drive from town and has a few restaurant options within a couple minutes drive. On site restaurant is worth checking out as well. Pool was great with plenty of lounge chairs always available. Hot springs were very nice but the weather was too warm for us to spend much time in them this time around. Highly recommended!

Watching all the birds in the trees at breakfast each morning was a highlight . The farm was so fun . We were lucky enough to be there when a new little calf was born. If you have kids and aren’t looking for the large crowds of a touristy resort, this is a hidden gem. A working farm with horses, donkeys, chickens, hens, and a huge pig named Bella. Endless entertainment! Our kids milked a cow, collected eggs in a hen house, and rode a horse. In addition, a small playground and trampoline setup and beautiful hot springs where we were the only ones there each day. Incredible! Only negative is the beds aren’t the most comfortable and coffee could be better. Food is very good and they actually utilize their farm for the restaurant. All of the staff were fantastic. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again and are bringing home many wonderful memories thanks to our stay at El Silencio.
