Great location but a bit faded and jaded.
Great location. Friendly staff. Very obliging when asked for an extra chair and a fan. Hotel could do with a bit of a facelift, carpets a bit worn and paintwork a bit scruffy, but comfortable and clean enough. The room was very warm even without any heating. Breakfast was not included but a mini breakfast was available and was a good size for the cost. However, the buffet was very poor. Tinned mandarins and grapefruit were the only fruits and processed ham and cheese slices the only savoury choices. Everything was sitting uncovered for the whole duration of breakfast (at least 3hours) which was quite unhygienic. Very central and close to the bus station. Probably decent value considering its location.

Decent hotel for the price in convenient location
The impressive reception and lobby area made me think I had secured a bit of a bargain; the rooms aren't quite so well maintained but were comfortable enough. The hotel is convenient for the waterfront, city centre, bus and rail stations, and buses for the Aran Islands ferry stop right outside. Friendly staff and great buffet breakfast.

Victoria Hotel
Hotel is currently undergoing renovations but this did not bother us at all, no noise noticed other than light banging mid morning, we were not around other times of day. It’s a no frills hotel that’s very comfortable, our lamp shade was stained and the door knob to the bathroom was hanging off enough to jangle, if this gives you any idea of its mid-condition. It’s location is very central and a perfect convenient walk to train station, food etc. Overall great quick stay!
