Exceptional 10.0
Great Hotel in a great location
We were put into one of the newly refurbished rooms which was very clean, modern and spacious. Staff were really friendly. Location is great very near Eyre Square. Would definitely return.

Very good 8.0
Great location but a bit faded and jaded.
Great location. Friendly staff. Very obliging when asked for an extra chair and a fan. Hotel could do with a bit of a facelift, carpets a bit worn and paintwork a bit scruffy, but comfortable and clean enough. The room was very warm even without any heating. Breakfast was not included but a mini breakfast was available and was a good size for the cost. However, the buffet was very poor. Tinned mandarins and grapefruit were the only fruits and processed ham and cheese slices the only savoury choices. Everything was sitting uncovered for the whole duration of breakfast (at least 3hours) which was quite unhygienic. Very central and close to the bus station. Probably decent value considering its location.

Poor 2.0
Slightly glorified hostel
We would not recommend staying at the Victoria hotel. When they said there was construction we pictured some workers making some slight noise, not a jack hammer to the exterior of our wall. The kind of renovations taking place should not facilitate any customers to be allowed to stay, they were just taking advantage and trying to make money during the construction. The carpet was the furthest from appealing and we chose to wear our shoes in our room. When we tried to get an early check out the manager was not on duty until the next day so nothing could be done. We excepted a follow up visit or call from the said manager which of course never happened. The front desk ladies were understanding and so was the customer service dept of hotels.com but clearly not the facility management. We would not recommend anyone to stay at the Victoria, keep scrolling, NEXT!
