Very mixed review
We were a family of three staying for 3 nights between Christmas and New Year. We had very mixed experiences, but on the whole it was okay and can be recommended. Firstly the negatives. I am a fairly new invalid, and have not yet got used to checking whether a hotel has a lift. It does not. Our first night was on the 3rd floor and it took me for ages to climb the very many stairs. The room was also very small and not a joy to stay in! However, the staff were very sympathetic and moved us to a ground floor room for the second and third nights. Not only did this solve my mobility problem, but the room was bigger and actually quite nice. There was a desk where it was possible to set up a computer and work easily. There is unfortunately a second negative - the breakfast is atrocious. This criticism can be applied to many London hotels of this variety; and to many UK hotels as well. The problem seems to be adding a breakfast at minimal cost. The cheapest bread and a poor selection of things to put on it. Weak coffee. Cheap juice. A very small amount of effort and expense could result in a pleasant experience. It was necessary to go to a local Italian cafe to get a decent coffee. The cafe had lots of customers arriving with suitcases from the surrounding hotels, and presumably all of them were looking for a drinkable coffee! In summary, the ground floor room was perfectly adequate, in contrast to the third floor room. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Convenient location. Reception was friendly. Good value.

Place was very clean, service was good and the lady assisting with breakfast couldnt do enough for people. Space in the room was very limited and bathroom very small, some items in the room were dated and needed replacing, but overall happy and would stay there again as location is excellent.

Perfect location for a stay in London. Staff very friendly and helpful. Too much work for two, (sometimes one person) at breakfast. One person cannot clear tables, make toast, set new tables, make more coffee, eggs etc alone. Not possible. Very stressful for dining room staff.

Very small, tiny bathroom and very high with tight stairs.

A great find
Recommended. Located on quiet street a few minutes walk from Paddington station. Check in was efficient and friendly, room was more than adequate and very clean. Booked a single as was just for an overnight business trip but room was not quite ready when I arrived, which was more than an hour before the advertised check in time so I didn’t expect it to be, but was upgraded to a triple room to save me waiting. Comfortable nights sleep, and nice breakfast. Do not expect the Ritz but for value, cleanliness and ease of access you will not be disappointed, particularly if all you want is somewhere to lay your head at night. Will definitely return here for all future overnight business trips.

Friendly helpful staff, fantastic location
Fantastic location, breakfast / housekeeping staff so accommodating and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was basic, but plenty of variety and lots of it. No need to go hungry! Highly recommended hotel (the room we got was not the one I booked and was difference of opinion re breakfast style but think that was down to hotels.com).

Great VfM
Needed a no frills overnight stay near Paddington. Rooms basic but spacious. A little tired but everything worked well. Not the greatest breakfast but for the price, hotel and location are great value for money.
