8/10 Very good

Alright for a night!
I was just stopping for the one night, and for that purpose it was reasonable. I would say the best was rather uncomfortable and the pillows were flat. It is a little dated, and there was a stain on my bed sheet, but otherwise the cleanliness was good. I slept, but I was disturbed by noise externally and in and around the building a few times. I was very happy to see that the toilet was actually not shared but dedicated to my room, which was nice, although it was down the corridor. All in all, I think it was a fine stay. Nothing incredible, but nothing terrible. Would recommend for short visits. Very convenient location for Kings Cross, and a short walk to key locations for Theatres, British Museum and Oxford Street.

8/10 Very good

I was originally in a room on the 3rd floor (no lift). The proprietress carried my bag up for me. It was 30 degrees in London that day and the room had a fan, but was still quite hot. I also found the stairs difficult as I have arthritis. I asked for the possibility of a room change and was moved to the ground floor on my second morning there, which was cooler and easier to navigate. The staff were professional and friendly and the breakfast good. Thanks!

4/10 Fair

Overpriced and room full of flies
I knew this was a basic style hotel even though I had to pay £300+ for the night. London is extremely busy and expensive hence exaggerated price currently. But a price of £300+ for this level of basic and also cleanliness is not okay. My room was full of flies, not just a couple, too many go count. The windows had been left open with lights on. It was horrible and although the room was generally clean the flies made it feel filthy. There were already lots of dead flies in the light shades so this must be a general problem. I consequently had a poor nights sleep and felt completely ripped off. The small liaison I had with staff was polite but there was no comment to apologise when I handed in a written note on their own complaints paper left out in my room.
