The hotel is as advertised. Check-in and check-out staff were very friendly. Mini fridge, full bed (was worried based on the 2 separate blankets in the photo it might be two twins pushed together), good water pressure in the shower. Quiet. I especially loved my window - great light, trees/pretty apartments outside, opened a little bit for fresh air without letting rain in. I was a woman traveling alone and felt very safe in the neighborhood and in the building, even at night - I barely had to turn off the busy street to get into the building. Close to the Rijk Museum, a nice large park, bike rental, post office, restaurants, tram. Pretty much right across the street from the canals. I was a little wary because the photos online were posted by the hotel in 2018 and the price was low, but my room was pretty much in the same condition (maybe a few marks on walls, etc). Elevator was out of order while I was there, but they gave me advanced notice and offered free cancellation. Stairs very steep, but that was okay for me.

The hotel is certainly conveniently located, with access to trams, to the Museumplein, to the Leidseplein, etc. all right at hand. The one-person staff was very friendly, and she even stayed late when we were delayed in our arrival. She was excellent. It was the most I've ever paid for a hotel room ($300 ), so it was particularly disappointing and frustrating that the shower was so weak (a trickle, really) as to be unusable. I know European showers are fundamentally different than American ones, but it's against a bunch of experience with European showers that I say this one was particularly bad.
