Great location within a small square with cafes, bars and restaurants on your doorstep. Public car park next to hotel which is free from 19:00 - 09:15 and not expensive during other times. We didn’t book breakfast but decided to have it. Such a good decision as breakfast was really good with almost too much of a selection. Pastries, breads, cereals, cheeses, hams, salmon, eggs, bacon, juices and much more.

This place is impeccable. In spite of it being in an historic building it has been lovingly maintained. Our triple room had an enormous bedroom with twin sinks. The beds were in separate rooms and there were original paintings on the walls. Breakfast was very good. Stay there if you’re in the area.

5 Star Stay in Hotel de Ffance

We first stayed at this hotel in 1986 and gave re-visited several times since. The location is fantastic right in the centre and beside the public car park and lift up to the chateau. The hotel has been renovated and extended over the years and is now even has a roof terrace for chilling out in after a days touring/cycling. The owners have changed over the years and the current owners, Romain & Romain, are wonderful friendly hosts, as are the rest of the hotel staff, We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will be back again.

Hotel is really quaint and done within several very old buildings - as best as possible. Decent accommodations, with the givens of walking up and down numerous stairs, dark hallways, etc. Personnel there ranges from: exceptionally sweet young woman - who carried our heavy suitcases up two steep stairs (no elevator) - to a very unfriendly male. Requests like - making a call on our behalf to a beauty salon - were met with dismay (by the male). The breakfast area could be easily mistaken for a US Best Western hotel. Impersonal. Food as well. The only thing - that was really cool - was the giant mural with the Rabelais character - Gargantua (the gourmand). All in all it is an OK place with strategic location within the downtown.

We enjoyed our stay here very much and would stay again. The staff was friendly and helpful and the room was very comfortable. Enjoyed happy hour on the outdoor terrace - the bartender picked the strawberries off the plant growing in a pot and gave them to us - the best strawberries I've ever had! A cute little french bulldog appeared every now and then for fun and entertainment. Highly recommend.

Fantastic location, very comfortable room, and great staff. You can easily walk to all the highlights in Chinon from here and it’s located on a lovely little square with lots of restaurants. I had a junior suite which was very spacious. The bed was really comfortable. Two things to keep in mind: there is no elevator so if you have accessibility issues, that might be a problem. The staff was great about helping me with my luggage. The second thing is there is no dedicated parking lot. You can unload your luggage in front of the hotel or in the lot at 11 Impasse Jean Macé, which is just around the corner from the hotel and gives you 15-30 minutes of free parking. Then you can move your car to one of the free lots about a 7-minute walk away. It’s very easy, but you should be aware when coming in that you’ll need to do this. It’s a lovely hotel and the perfect place to stay in Chinon.

Otroligt mysigt och familjärt hotell med bästa läget. Fin frukost med det man behöver och vill ha. Ingår dessutom i rumspriset. Uppmärksam, trevlig och hjälpsam personal. Alltid glada och positiva de fyra dagarna vi bodde där. Garage med laddningsmöjlighet finns. Trångt, men man kan få hjälpa att köra in och ut! Fräscha rum utan heltäckningsmatta. Badrum modernt och rent. Vi kan verkligen rekommendera denna pärla vid resa i Loire.
