Beautiful lake front view! Lots of restaurants nearby. The walk to/from the train station is challenging downhill from the train station and a steep uphill walk. We took a taxi both ways

Charming little hotel in a top location
Walter du Lac is an excellent hotel for Lugano. Firstly the location is superb, could not be better with lake views, town centre right there and boats departing from 50m away. We paid a tad extra for the room with the balcony which i loved. Spent some time out there just soaking upbthe view. The room was simple with a small bathroom but had everything we needed. Only small complaint would be that the bath itself was very narrow so it was a tight squeeze for my slim but tall husband. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Loved the hot tub on the 5th floor terrace. Finally the breakfast was plentiful and varied and much more than I was expecting. All in all an excellent option and highly recommended.
