Amazing hotel in an excellent location.
Excellent little hotel. Bed huge and amazingly comfortable. TV had music channels which is great for those that don't want Italian TV. Fantastic location near the Laurentian Library and Medici Chapel. Halfway between the Duomo and the central railway station. The hotel pushes organic, locally sourced and home made food. One of the best breakfasts at a hotel I've ever had. Most of the food is produced locally or in house, very little bought in here, home made flavoured butters, homemade yoghurt, honeycomb, homemade pastries, homemade bread and homemade jams. There was also a small selection of hot food 'English breakfast style' and also gorgeous smoke salmon in among the local and homemade cheese and meats. We took the wine upgrade - and it was a nice sparkling white. The hotel seems aimed at English speaking people. With a bonus - there is a Brewdog just round the corner! A couple of very MINOR negatives - the coffee machine for boiling water for tea could have done with some instructions - it leaked everywhere. A shame - as the hotel actually provided mugs - proper sized mugs for your tea, not tiny teacups. Also - the light switches by the loo made no sense and the main room light was very very bright - which was a little awkward. Maybe some labels. Probably the 3rd best hotel experience I've had after the antique four poster in Stratford and the prison in Oxford.

First time staying here and it was a wonderful experience! Had a little trouble finding it, There is no outside signage, just engraving on the front door. The welcoming and check-in process was so easy and nice - manager escorted us to our room and walked us through how everything worked and all amenities. Our room came with free breakfast and we were told that everything was made in-house (breads, pastries, jam, etc). They even had a real honeycomb that dropped honey into a jar for your use - nothing fresher than that!! They had an area that had coffee, tea and flavored water that was accessible 24-hours a day including some cookies as well. The room was very comfortable. There were 3 of us and while the room was cozy, we all slept so well. Good sized bathroom with the typical offerings. They held our bags after we checked out. The staff was so nice, always offering tea or coffee when coming into the lobby. I unfortunately fell and sprained my ankle out on a wet street, they were so accommodating and brought me some ice and Let us hang out in the lobby until time for our train. Just the best experience overall. I highly recommend staying here and would do again next time I am in Florence!

Excellent, centrally-located hotel
We stayed in a two-room suite, which was perfect for our family of five - 2 adults and 3 children (12, 9 and 6). We had a queen bed in one room and pullout bed in other - both very quite comfortable. The room was a good size and included complimentary water, drinks, coffee, and biscuits (cookies). Bathroom was very modern with good quality stone in the shower and bathroom floor. Two good size TVs. The only negative - there were two children talking loudly late into the night next door and we could hear them very clearly through the wall (#manners)! The best thing about the hotel is the breakfast (which is included). A great variety of foods, including many homemade items. I especially enjoyed the homemade jams! Restaurant staff was very friendly and attentive. Excellent service! The hotel is in a great location - very short walk to SMN train station, Duomo, Ponte Vecchio, and Accademia Galleria. We would definitely stay here again if traveling to Florence.

Fair 4.0
This hotel is a work in progress. We had two rooms for our family. If we had not had to deal with the shower flooding and all would the ridiculous man on the night shift all would have been better. The cons: flooded shower at night, no air conditioning or fan for the rooms so have to open windows for ventilation at night. Noise in the area is very loud night and day. Must pay cash for city tax because the management does not want to pay the credit card fees. Night manager is certifiably insane and only knows two words of English - it’s okay. Would never stay there again. Not worth the aggravation. The pros: decent size rooms, good breakfast, helpful day staff, newly remodeled. Tip: Request a room in the suites side. A little quieter and the beds are not rock slabs.

The staff is amazing! The reception is so welcoming and helpful! The breakfast staff will brighten your morning with smiles, laughter and good service. The rooms were updated and comfortable in every way. Beds were great, showers were lovely, AC was perfect. Booking through Expedia we received free breakfast and mini bar. Fantastic! Breakfast had hot eggs and bacon, homemade butters, jams. Scrumptious bread and cakes, cereal, many fruit, hot chocolate, capuchins, espresso -all serves with pride and joy. Location was across from Medici chapel so very close to Duomo in the St. Lorenzo district. Very safe with great restaurants close by. We were very pleased with everything about Solo Experience. Great work, staff!.
