Exceptional 10.0
Really nice pub great food and beer. BedRoom was huge and decorated really nice with all the extras you would hope for (coffee machine, bathrobes, shortbread and water). Breakfast was also excellent, with a good choice. Would definitely stay again when I’m in the area.

Very good 8.0
Adequate accommodation for a few nights
Perfectly acceptable room. The Restaurant was really quiet, we don't think we saw anyone using it at lunch time or in the evening throughout the duration of our stay. Which seems a shame, because we had breakfast there every day and it was lovely food. The Bar in the evening seemed to be very much a locals drop in place. (Bit of swearing around the Bar, Men coming home from work it seemed, in work gear) Again, under used. The whole place was closed quite early. There are loads of other Restaurants and Bars doing well in the vicinity, so why are they quiet? Our room was perfectly fine. In fact, quite spacious. It had everything we needed. I would suggest staying in a room high up in the property because the road outside can be a little noisy. This is an old property and some wear and tear was showing (easily rectified stuff, like scruffy carpets in the corridor). We would recommend this Hotel, but not if you want 5 star luxury. And go for the best room you can. I wouldn't want to use the shared bathrooms there, but if on a budget it might be ok. The Staff seemed a little tired. When approached, they were fairly friendly. Having said all that, we would be unlikely to stay there again, as we believe there is better accommodation to be found in the area. Woburn Hotel up the Road being one of them. Obviously, you will pay a lot more... so depends on budget.

Room 4 for short people only
Friendly staff, good food. The big negative was we weren't told on booking that the room we had booked was best used by those under 5ft 5 inches. Very low ceilings. Avoid room 4.

Poor 2.0
Worst stay I’ve ever had
Very cold room widow latch worn letting cold air in Old mattress very uncomfortable Lucky other beds in room so we could take duvet off to put on our bed bathroom had worn taps very difficult to regulate temperature for a shower As for the breakfast a miserable member of staff you don’t want to greet you for breakfast Going back to the room all central-heating turned off
