Bristol Radisson
Second time at this hotel. Booked through hotels. Com which was actually cheaper than their reward program! Friendly gentleman on check in. We chose a deluxe room . Lovely views from ceiling high windows which were overlooking the harbour. Corner room so had views from another window too. Clean room & comfortable bed. 3 of 4 pillows were smaller than normal size? We booked breakfast but found bacon , sausage & hash browns hard & dry at 9:30. When they replenished around 10am, they did so by pudding fresh food on top of the other food when they really should discard it- no wonder it was awful. I did explain to reception why I was cancelling breakfast but I wasn’t asked why I didn’t like it or given any apology. Cancelled breakfast for the next day & ate in a cafe around the corner instead. Concierge parking for member is £25 a night but they charged me £28 each day which I didn’t notice until I left. The concierge is great- very polite gentleman who brought back our car in minutes when we requested it earlier than planned. Good location for shopping and quite a few bars & eating places on the harbour. 5 min walk across from the Hippodrome. Good location for us so would stay again.

Great location and hotel, a few bad experiences
on arrival we were well greeted by friendly staff and shown to a fantastic room on level 11 over looking the harbour. Unfortunately, my partner got electrocuted by exposed wires on a lamp in the room when he went to turn it on. The staff quickly came to help us and no harm was done. The following morning we realised our toilet was leaking sewage into the room and asked staff to attend whilst we were away for the day. We came back that evening to be then offered a new room since the toilet seemed to be broken. We were moved up to the business class floors into a smaller room with views of the city. The room definitely wasn't as good as our last room which was really disappointing. We used the valet service which was excellent. The car was treated with care. The lifts broke multiple times during our stay which was made much worst to deal with after being moved up floors. The gym was nice but some equipment requires maintenance and is falling apart. This could be dangerous. Buffet breakfast was delicious and well organised. We enjoyed this very much. On our check out, we were going to be charged for breakfast and the charge on the upgrade for the room change which was extremely disappointing as we had expected this was deducted due to the issues we had experienced and the move to the smaller room. After a debated about this charge, we were accommodated. We wish we didn't have to change room for all the issues this caused.

I Could Have Died Here.
I booked our rooms on Expedia expecting a room overlooking Bristol indeed that was what was portrayed on the advert that all rooms had some kind of view of the river hence the extra money paid. upon acquiring my room on the fourth floor initially both my mum and I had rooms overlooking a brick wall. we were promptly upgraded by member of staff who stated that Expedia mislead customers and she apolgised. The following morning at 8: 30 the cleaner tempted to access my room. She did not knock she barged in fortunately the chain was on the door. At 8: 45 a. M. I was disturbed Again by staff looking for staff. The cleaner did not relay to anyone I was in this room. your staff stated I was not listed on the system and they apologise for waking me up and ruining my day leaving me tired and agitated. I then questioned if there was a fire you would not know as in the building and that was so disturbing to me that they'd let me die. this was an enormous health and safety breach of the highest order I found it extremely unprofessional. I'm most concerned that the cleaner did not ask reception why room she was told to clean had someone in it. I was also locked out of my room for 30 minutes because staff didn't tell us that plastic keys became faulty if you had a mobile phone next to them. As a result of this the stuff and I had to try three keys two of which were faulty. fortunately I had my mum's room to go in but if she had not been there I would have been sat in the hallway

Not particularly impressed
I chose Radisson Blu because of a previous stay in their Sydney hotel, which was extremely impressive. However, Bristol didn't live up to that. For a start the room was a twin, when it clearly said double on the Expedia booking. My room happened to be on the first floor facing out onto the Centre - about the same height as the top deck of the buses which stopped outside the room, so curtains had to be closed. Well someone has to have 'that' room I guess. There's no minibar, and the facilities are distinctly average; shower over the bath (with a hose that leaked), smallish TV with poor sound etc. - nothing terrible, just not outstanding. The bar facilities were very poor - a tiny little bar, and bar staff who took an age just to do a couple of G&Ts... I was hoping for a 14th floor cocktail bar overlooking Bristol, but hey... they didn't seem to do table service, and the main corridor leading to reception goes straight through the seating area. So, if I'm stuck for a hotel in Bristol, I would consider it, but I wouldn't particularly recommend this hotel to others, and personally I'll look to book future stays with one of other city centre hotels I've stayed in previously.

Daily weekend away with need for accessibility
I was with family and one of my family is a wheelchair user. This always makes you see things differently. Whilst the rooms were good, and there was significant adaptation that was very good for a wheelchair user, and there was interconnectivity with the other room which was great. The hitch was that the rooms were on the 11th floor. Now, we did not realise why this may be an issue until we tried to go to breakfast. There are 2 list serving the whole hotel - and we were in a busy time. We had to wait half an hour, with no joy in getting a lift in a very hot corridor. Lifts came, but they were almost full or did not have room in them for a wheelchair. I was happy to walk (as could the lift users I am sure), but my nephew cannot. It was really frustrating. In the end, I asked a couple of chamber maids for assistance, and they were super helpful and allowed us to use the staff lift. The rooms were very good, I used the gym which was well equipped and the staff happily arranged taxi's for us. Overall it is very good here, but I would say that the lift issue almost meant us missing breakfast and it was frustrating.
