Washington Square Inn

The hotel is very dated and could do with a refurb, especially for the price point. The location is excellent, walking distance to many main areas such as fisherman’s wharf and we loved North Beach area. The breakfast included is decent but limited. They do wine and cheese at 5pm-6:30pm which is a nice touch before heading out for dinner. Watch out for room 14, the bathroom is across the corridor, which I wasn’t aware of, it is in the small print but not very obvious at all. Luckily we were able to move on the second night to room 10 which had its own bathroom and was more spacious. The rooms got very hot and there was no aircon, only fans, the hotel could benefit from installing some aircon as during the hot weather we experienced it was extremely hot in the room. Overall nice staff, although overpriced for what the hotel offers, location is the best thing about the hotel.

For the cost of the room is was Dissapointing to see that the standard of the maintainence could be much better. We ended up on the ground floor room which we had not initially booked and the noise from the street and the hotel reception made it impossible to sleep most of the time.

Good value for money

Loved the wine and cheese every afternoon! This was a great location for exploring San Fran (close to most of the tourist hotspots).

Not good. 5 mins ringing the door bell at 4pm on arrival - no answer. came back a few mins later and cleaner let us in - then reception arrived. Room was so small you cannot sit on the loo with the door shut! Limited breakfast choice - sweet granola, sweet pastries, sweet yogurt -good if you like sweet things 1 member of staff was helpful and welcoming

Great location. Queen rooms were small and not kean on the bathroom being across the hall.

It was a great spot, very bright, clean, nicely decorated and furnished but it has to b the smallest room I have ever stayed in and with two suitcases and a man with very broad shoulders we weren’t comfortable moving in it which was a shame, sitting on the loo and your knees being on the door never a good thing. Delicious croissants though and we woke up to the smell of them baking! Yum’
