Room not available and had to wait until alternative was available
Nice enough hotel , bit dated but looks like renovations are going on
Lovely hotel, gorgeous food and service. Very polite staff. Room was very clean and comfortable. Didn't get towels in the room as we were meant to but just mentioned it at reception and this was sorted out for us promptly. Overall would go back.
GOOD: : Covid regs good without being overbearing. Breakfast particularly well done and staff service at breakfast time superb. Location is very good close to M6 , 100yds to a railway station [ but NO noise due to railway being steeply downhill]. Very historic village with plenty of walks with lots to see. maintenance man response time and ability to sort problem was amazing, BAD: 3pm checkin but still had to wait for room !!! Check-in chaotic. Room clean and tidy but quite dated. Leisure facility over subscribed by locals which also meant car park impossible to get space in during early evening. Restaurant. Oh dear. Staff who clearly hadnt been in their jobs long - trying their best but didnt really know what they had to offer or how service should be. Food okay but no different than what you get in that big pub chain we all know. BUT served on a small flat rectangle of wood = food falling off the edges and eg fish placed on top of coleslaw . We were also very concerned about the hygene of a venue still using wooden plates - most places changed back to 'proper' plates a long time ago as wood is known to be very very hard to get properly clean.
Used as a pit-stop driving from Scotland to the South coast. Nice location, good standard of accommodation. Room was above average but not top tier, shower was a dribble. Breakfast was good and staff were polite and efficient.
Stayed in new Green Lane room. Ok but not enough storage space if staying for more than 2 nights. No bath 🤐Food service poor. Missed items.
nice place, good location for onwards travel
It was an amazing stay. The green lane rooms are beautiful. The food and restaurant services were excellent.
Loved this place centrally located in a beautiful village. Staff were amazing and rooms lovely. Would definitely go back
Nice, clean, welcoming old hotel literally a 2 minute walk from the train station.
