    Good value at discounted price
The stay was enjoyable for the discounted price. However, hotel bar/restaurant closes at 7pm. Pool has no sense of community as only 2 deck chairs to use at children’s pool. Breakfast was great with ample choice to suit everyone. Villa lovely although some tired elements ie mould around sink, mould on bath mat.

4 star if you are generous
A decidedly average location. This is definitely NOT a Resort, as the name suggests. It is hit and miss if Reception staff speak English. The English speaking staff are superb. The other staff do not understand what you want, and at times you must walk away and wait another day for different staff. Booked a private pool villa but was placed in a communal pool villa - not told this by check in staff - so an annoying check in to correct. Beds rock hard - was quite uncomfortable for our 7 day stay. Hot water in shower at best intermittent. Asked about trips - was told to read the book in reception - no other advice. Breakfast does not change - so very repetitive after day 5. We do NOT eat meat - so be careful at Egg/Omelette station at breakfast - the same utensils are used to prepare the meat and non meat omelettes. Despite ordering a cheese and mushroom omelette - my plate had a residual piece of ham on it. Told manager who said sorry and nothing else. Some positives - very large villas, peaceful location, in villa bbq expensive but worth the money. be careful if staying in villa 1023 - it is the local congregrating area for the cleaners in the early morning - had to complain to management to get them to move and be quiet as woke us up.

    Felt like a retirement village....
I have stayed at the Banyan Tree several times before, this will probably be the last. It is now dated, a little shabby and seems to be run for the benefit of the staff than for the comfort of the guest. The Villa I was in was large and on first inspection looks fine, it'is when you look a little harder that the cracks show, literally in places. Grubby net curtains, on a rail that was broken, a filthy looking cooker and a microwave that just stank. Loose tiles, and suspicious looking stains on the furniture The restaurants are poor, the main one closes at 3pm, so no dinner, unless you have room service. The Splash snack bar doesn't even cook your food, the main restaurant does, a half mile away. Then your order is put on the back of a bike and driven to you. So a limited choice served lukewarm. My main complaint was the state of the pool outside my room which was awful. The bottom was covered in leaves and grit and dirt, one corner was just nothing but a pile of leaves that had obviously been there for some time. I complained, three times, and nothing. Eventually I sent an email to the main office and that seemed to do the trick. But should a guest really have to point out the filthy state of the pools even once, never mind repeatedly? You should also know that the resort is some miles form the main town, there is a free shuttle but it runs infrequently, and on a first come first served basis, so be prepared to pay for taxis to and fro, and the expense they generate.

    Good place to relax.
The place is silence in the night. You may see gecko in the house, but I think this is the reason that no mosquitoes. We cannot park the car beside the house, however, the staff is so kind that they proactively drive the golf car to assist us when we park our car at the car park. The water of the swimming pool is clean, we have spent a lovely afternoon in the pool. Will stay here again if we visit HuaHin another time.
