Property is a real find. Old colonial house with superb gardens and Fred flintstones like pool. Our room, Hummingbird, had a verandah overlooking the lush vegetation, pool, and a sweeping view of Bridgetown cruise port and the sea. Visiting monkeys, hummingbirds and the resident peacocks were an unexpected bonus. Lovely relaxing outdoor breakfasts, well above standard I expected.

Sweetfield Manor really is a bajan gem. Those who work there are very friendly and attentive to customers’ needs and they are willing to go above and beyond. It is great value for money and exceeded our expectations.

Good hotel, but it could be great

Sweetfield Manor has some charm. The view from the communal deck is good. The pool is well maintained and quite "instagrammable". There seemed to be two pool side cabanas that had a more "Bali" look to them. The staff was generally courteous and we appreciated our daughter's birthday brownie. Breakfast every morning was a good value for typical Barbados accommodations. With all of that being said, there were quite a few issues with Sweetfield Manor. The complimentary breakfast was very limited and monotonous. We had to constantly take silverware from other tables. The room we had (in the main building) had some foundational issues and needs some maintainance. Our room was serviced literally once in 7 days. The only garbage bin could not hold much, so we had to use our own garbage bags. We also had an awkward, dinner in darkness the only evening we ate there. Dinner was a 5/10, at best. I write this review with hopes that Sweetfield Manor can be a great accomodation one day, not just a very slight above average one. Best, Naira, Kaya, Idoline and Akeem

    Nice Peaceful Stay

My husband and I had a very relaxing stay over the holiday weekend! The only slight issue was that the wifi wasn’t always super reliable, but since we were just on vacation, it wasn’t the biggest concern. Would stay again!

Charming ut with a few shortcomings

I stayed here one night and thought the mansion had some charm. The service was friendly and very professional for the most part , true Bajan hospitality. I had a dinner onsite and it was very good, although the portion were small for the offering. This is common in Barbados in my opinion. The room: I had a room in the "Courtyard" and my room number was number 7. The room itself is large and charming but with a bit of a damp smell. Situated right outside the employee entrance for the kitchen there is a lot of come and go as of early in the morning and until 10 pm. The room has louvered shutters , and are not sealed like a normal hotel window. There is a small space in between each slat where the noise and air travel. Also, workers were setting up for a special event very early in the morning and consequently the noise did interfere with my sleep. Pool: The pool area did not have any chairs due to an event they were setting up for. Without lounger chairs and with much of the activity and noise going on with the setting up of the event , I deemed the pool area to be unusable. Breakfast: It was a good offering but they came knocking on my door twice to get my order ( I was in the shower) . I was going to head to the eating areas but they said they would deliver to the room. Apart from having ordered fried eggs and receiving an omelette it was also awkward to eat in a room where the platter barely fit on my side table. It dont recommend eating inside the room.
