Great place to stay.
Lovely quiet rural location. Really nice cosy room. With a bath!! Great hot water, lovely shower, comfortable bed. Satisfactory wifi. The food was really lovely for a country pub it was more than I expected and would definitely eat here as a meal out if I was in the area. Staff very helpful and friendly. Good breakfast with lots of fresh fruit.

8/10 Very good

Great experience
Wonderful stay with my two dogs for the purpose of a family funeral. The staff were really friendly and helpful the room was clean and tidy . Food was really good . One slight issue was a very rowdy group in the resturant which meant I had to eat in my room because of the disturbance . It met all my expectations and the breakfast was also excellent with a wide choice and plenty of fresh or cooked choice . Although there was a dog menu I didn’t sample it . I was surprised to see a tip added to my bill as I had given a cash tip to the staff on the completion of my meal . Lovely room and ample parking , great experience despite the evening disruption.
Dog friendly room ( dog crate was my own ).

Good stay
Food and drink was not cheap but it was a very attractive location, very comfortable with good service and excellent breakfast. A power cut was a nuisance but not their fault. Staff were very helpful with our need for early departure on one day.

6/10 Good

Not quite a superior 5* room
Sadly the room was situated in what was the attic therefore the walls formed a sloping ceiling. This would be o.k if you were not 6' 2" tall with a bad back which made using the toilet nearly impossible without being seated. The towels & toiletries were excellent with plenty of hot water. The room no 17 also had only one very small opening window nothing like that shown in the photo when booking, since the weather reached 29 C the heat in the room was almost unbarable & without using the fan provided would have unbareable!! The bath was rusting heavily around the plug hole control & it also had several chips. The bed was comfortable & on the whole the room was quite delighful although not 5* in my opinion. We did return on one occasion late afternoon to find that the room hadn't been made up. The staff were excellent & most abliging especially as I had a medical problem & could only eat certain foods. Jackie & her collegue at breafast were exceptional. The only issue was no skimmed milk which I had to have, so I had to buy my own & take it down each day which was a shame. Would I stay again definately not in room 17 which had plenty of cowebs too sadly.
