Good 6.0
Small and noisy. So very noisy.
I was staying here for 5 nights for a conference that was on over a weekend (who does that?!). This hotel was within walking distance of the conference venue, so I figured it was a fairly safe bet. Unfortunately, I couldn't have picked a worse spot for trying to get enough sleep for all the early starts. The room was small, but cosy. However where they had tried to make the most of it with decor, they'd taken away valuable table space with oversized bedside-lamps. Now, the location is both brilliant, and awful, depending on what you want from your stay. As mentioned, I was at a conference, so I wanted a good night's sleep each night. However, my room faced directly out on to the roof of the dancefloor of the pub downstairs, so I was treated each night to ridiculously loud music AND stomping feet until 2.30am. I mentioned this to the staff when I asked for earplugs. They know it's noisy, but when one night in the bar makes more money than the whole hotel being occupied, they're prob not that worried. The car park was also an issue - as it's not part of the hotel, and not free. It's a multi-storey car park about 2 mins walk away, and has a reduced overnight rate. Which I'd wished I'd known before I booked. The staff on reception were really friendly, however, and very helpful (albeit with some confusion over the payment procedure in the car park from the guy who checked me in!). Perfect for a hen night. Not great if you need a good night's sleep

Worth staying and very accommodating
Really loved the hotel. At first thought it was a pub from outside but was greatly mistaken . Lots of thought into things like delivering your breakfast in some bags as they don’t have that facility . Parking was nearby in Jury Inn parking and was a charge but not much.Reception explained everything well on arrival and we had new interiors . Worth staying

Good Hotel - Friendly Staff A++
Nice hotel and very friendly staff. Live music in the pub attached to the hotel which does go on late into the evening but perfect for the trip.

Lovely boutique hotel in a perfect location
Lovely boutique hotel in the centre of Galway. Parked in Spanish Arch multi-story which is discounted by getting the tckt stamped by the hotel. Some inevitable noise from the street below & breakfast comes in a bag (juice, granola, yoghurt, muffin, apple) but lovely, comfortable room and perfect location made it a great choice.

Very good 8.0
5* for what it is
If you want to stay steps away from restaurants and nightlife and shopping, and are willing to put up with the things that come with it, this is a great place. Truly in the middle of it all. Room size as expected (I've definitely been in smaller) for its location with a comfortable king (!) bed. Noise level was better than expected for area (I think the music downstairs at the bar went until 11 on weeknight). Plus thoughtfully, earplugs and fans (one was a dyson!) were provided in room. Was also cooler and better ventilated than expected for no AC. Room was clean, updated, and modern. Common areas reflected that they likely get a lot of 20-something guests coming in after drunken nights (stale beer smell, some wear, etc.). They validate for discounted overnight parking at Jury's garage basically next door (so no dragging suitcases too far through the street), but wow, that deck is treacherous even by European city standards. If you'd rather have quiet luxury, are traveling as a family, or are looking for a place to stay on a trip with your retired parents, go further afield and spend some more.
