We had an absolutely wonderful night at the Waring House! It started with great communication from the hotel before we even arrived, and progressed to a very friendly welcome at the front desk, we were checked in right away and she had all our requests on file. The room we were assigned was in one of the outer buildings, a big beautiful room with a huge balcony that we immediately took full advantage of to enjoy the warm afternoon sun. Dinner in the pub was good and breakfast the next morning was even better. We will definitely be back though will wait for the summer season as our only disappointment was that a lot of the local galleries and stores were still closed.

Glad we opted for the Waring Hotel.
We stayed for two nights at the Quaker Lodge and absolutely loved it there. Great views, clean and comfortable rooms. Nice breakfast and very friendly lady named Heather who served breakfast and made everybody feel very welcome. Shame there was no pool or fitness room. The meal in Amelia's Garden Restaurant, prepared by a reputable chef, was excellent. It is nice that the restaurant offers vegetarian options. Sad, however, that the menu tells you that their cuisine is 'bio-ethical' but serves foie gras, which is anything but ethical.

Good Experience
The town of Picton is very appealing, with its proximity to Lake Ontario and the original country inn - with its 4 guest rooms and attractive pub/restaurant- is overflowing with character and atmosphere. If you're staying in one of the detached lodges, which are mainly of 21st century construction, they're still nice - but they're more like staying at a good Best Western.
