Sadly rundown
The hotel seemed to be desperately short staffed and the restaurant was closed though bar food was available. Our room was clean with a comfortable bed and crisp white linen but the whole place was very tired looking. Our room was on third floor with no lift. Breakfast was ok but the staff seemed to be more sleepy than the customers! It would be a good idea to tell the young staff that talking to customers in the same tone as you talk to your friends is not a good idea. Service was slow and various items were missing off the cooked breakfast without explanation until a comment was made. The hotel was attractive and in a good location so it was disappointing that it was lacking in upkeep.

Worst hotel ever
Awful hotel. Booked 4 rooms for two nights whilst attending a family wedding. Plaster falling off walls, curtains falling apart, one room had a bug trap behind the bed 😬 Bath tub stained, water was hot then cold no midheat. Windows wouldn't close properly. Probability the worst hotel i have ever stayed at. It is a lovely building just needs a complete refit.

Showing signs of age but nothing can be done about that. Excellent service but a little trouble, at first, logging on to wi-fi. Unfortunately wedding reception on at same time as stay (a Friday evening)

Nice hotel
My daughter and I stayed a couple of nights and we had a lovely time. An old but comfortable hotel. Our room was a lovely size, comfy bed and huge bathroom. Food was nice and a reasonable price too. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Wouldn’t stay again
Place needs some TLC. Bathroom had tiles from the 60s lots of cracks, bath panel was hanging off hole in the tap. Bed was comfy. Breakfast was a waste of time, no white bread (they had none!!) then had to wait half an hour for it to arrive.

The heating broke no hot water we told to use the electric heatee in room which made a racket by other reviews i have read the heating seems to be a problem quite often . The food from the restaurant was nice and the staff were friendly. And the bed was uncomfortable quite hard

SPACIOUS AND WELL EQUIPPED ROOM. GREAT CHECK IN.
Check in was great and very speedy and efficient and all the staff were friendly. The room was lovely and spacious and well equipped. Bathrooms are a little tired but spacious also. Did not eat in the hotel so cannot comment on the food etc. Overall a good stay and will be staying again.

Stuck in the past
There is no lift in the hotel, stairs a nightmare for Arthritic knees. Bathroom floor was dirty in the corners, door lock broken, grab rail above bath missing. Carpet in the room filthy with ominous looking stains. No hair drier. Dirty marks on the walls, large cracks in the walls. Chef has no idea how to make an Omelette, I received an egg Pizza with burnt crispy edges and greasy melted cheese on the top.
