This Grade 2 listed building is a joy to visit. We stayed in the room called ‘ The Old Curiosity Shop’ with a nod to Charles Dickens who had stayed at the hotel where he launched his literary tour. The views were outstanding from our window looking out over the Wye Valley. We thoroughly enjoyed Dinner at the hotel and breakfast. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Lovely hotel, staff were so friendly and polite. Our room was lovely and clean and had everything we needed. Food at the hotel both in the evening and breakfast was all freshly cooked to order with a great selection.

Ideal location for Ross on Wye and exploring the area. Old historic building with usual quirky uneven floors and some signs of wear and tear which were more than compensated for by the friendliness and warmth of all of the staff. We had a superior room with windows on two sides - spacious and very comfortable with traditional dark wood furniture. In older buildings, a lack of power points is often an issue, as it was for this room, but I take an extension lead - problem solved. Breakfast was excellent, and we had a sandwich at lunch and bar snacks in the evening in the bar, both very good. Parking is within the hotel and free. Would go back and recommend to others.

Lovely old hotel in a beautiful setting. Our check in was very easy , all staff were friendly and helpful. We stayed in a gorgeous superior room which was so comfortable with stunning views across the river. We also enjoyed 2 lovely evening meals which were reasonably priced with plenty of choices available. Plus, as the weather was so hot, we were able to enjoy a cool drink whilst sitting on the terrace overlooking the river. Would highly recommend this hotel and wouldnt hesitate to stay there again.
