This hotel is not children friendly. They charged too much for 2 children with no upgraded room and incomplete room amenities such as shampoo and body wash. Workers were working in mid-day. It was very inconvenient. The staff were not friendly. I will not stay in this hotel for next and will not recommend it
The room’s view was spectacular. The hotel room was also comfortable and we love the balcony. We didn’t like the breakfast so we were better off eating out.
We would have given it 5-star but while we were there it was Oktoberfest in the hotel so it was very noisy and the normal menu was substituted with a very poor snack time menu. We thought we should have been forewarned about it.
Overall its a pleasant enough Hotel if a little expensive but it is what it is. Just two gripes, Breakfast. At 34 Euros for two, the Buffet is poor and most of the "leftover" food is recycled for the next day. I have 27 years Catering experience to endorse that comment and it can be corrected simply especially at that price. The other gripe unnecessary and not listed garnish on the Restaurant food. The food was GREAT and did not need the heavy sprinkling of beetroot all over it !! Be proud of your food and throw out the TV Chef bits, its good.
Location:middle town right to the church BF:Excellent varieties of quality food and beverage Room:4 beds family room in big and comfortable with lake view Nearby:because it is in the middle. nearest supermarket takes 15 minutes walk Staff :Overall good service but some works like machine (shows less hospitality) Concern = tourist by cars cannot drive directly into hotel to check in. Check in is complicated, you have to park your vehicle at Parking P1. then parking officer at garage will arrange Hallstatt free shuttle van right to hotel. Check out is the same process by front desk call (appointment) with your parking ticket verify to shuttle bus driver. Your ride is free only in and out (2 times.) Parking ticket paid at vending machine at "hotel guest" button for cheaper fare. Tourist by train has to take boat ride from train station to Hallstatt Pier (in front of this hotel) very convenience. Hotel should clarify check in by car process to customer via advertising. I have to ask Hallstatt resident during walk into town. Thank god I met nice gentleman with English.
I was in a junior suite with balcony facing the lake view. Nice and comfy room. But the maid didn't filled the shower ger for me on both shower stall and bath tub. I informed the staff at the check out but she disn't seeed to care.
Incredible location and restaurant. The hotel is literally the first building once you get off the ferry, making it incredibly convenient to get to and from. Hallstatt is very small to begin with, so everything is walkable. But this hotel is right in the middle of it. Rooms are very nice, large, and comfortable. The restaurant has a great menu and high quality food. We will definitely stay here again next time we are in Hallstatt.
Great location on the water and looking out on the lake. Rooms are updated and comfortable. Service is pleasant and attentive. Food is solid.
We really love the place.
We had to walk to our room through the city. It wasn’t part of the main hotel building. If you’d like to be in the main hotel building I’d recommend making a request (this wasn’t mentioned anywhere during the booking). However, our room was very clean and in a unique older looking building which was renovated for extra hotel rooms. It was nice but a little inconvenient since we had to walk back to the hotel to take advantage of its services. Also, staff didn’t mention that you needed a reservation to eat dinner in the hotel restaurant. When we showed up around 6h30 we were turned away even though we were hotel guests (and there was plenty of room for us to eat there at the time). We had a lot of difficulty finding something to eat in town that could accommodate our group. Many restaurants were already closed down at that time because it’s “off season” for tourism there (February). All in all, very clean and nicely renovated hotel that can accommodate large groups. However, additional information during the booking should be provided about room location and staff need to mention that reservations are needed for the restaurant. We had a nice stay, but could’ve been better.
