Great all round
Brilliant location. Very friendly staff, great barman, lovely room and shower. Would definitely recommend. Porto the place and people are fantastic.

Very Good8.0
When style of design overtakes practicality.
It was a beautiful concept hotel, very modern and streamlined, to the extent that in our room, there were no drawers at all, and very little hanging space with I think 6 hangers. The bathroom was a nightmare again for lack of space, very beautiful, but completely impractical. I want shelves to keep all my stuff on hand - I had to carry it all in and all out again. Fortunately we only stayed for one night, and although everything else was great, including the location, the lack of space in our room made me glad to leave.

Hotel Teatro
Long weekend in Porto.
A quirky theatre themed hotel. Staff pleasant, hotel clean, breakfast fine. Hotel in a reasonable area, not too far from train station and metro, although there is building work directly opposite hotel. Down sides of hotel - as it is theatre themed hotel, very dark everywhere. Bedrooms were also very small, but surprisingly the bathroom was large. But main down side of Hotel Teatro - is the bathroom is separated from the bedroom by a clear glass sliding door! On holiday with a close friend in Porto and saw and heard things that not even the closest friends should hear/see!!! Would i stay there again or recommend it? No is the answer. The design of the bathrooms is a big no no! Porto great though.

Very very very dark hotel I've ever been
Very very very dark inside, just like in a cinema, even can't see myself inside a mirror!

Hotel Teatro
Did not live up to its reputation
I read good reviews about this hotel and elected to book based on these. Overall, it was disappointing. The location is excellent, but the room itself had a toilet with a glass wall which meant that anyone who walked into the main bathroom area could see you. There was no coffee with the tea making facilities and the cleaners made little effort - with tea mugs not cleaned and shower gel and shampoo not being replaced - although the reception rectified this when I asked them. Overall, it was the service level that let this down and for the price paid - compared to other hotels - I would probably look at an alternative in the future.
