Stanhill Court Hotel
Worst stay in 5 years
I would usually say worst stay this year, but this was my worst stay in 5 years. Major building work underway, rubble, dirt, dust, noise throughout the hotel, woeful customer service, TV didnt work, 1st room not as booked and something from 1960s and run down, 2nd room new room but in the middle of building work, windows painted shut, smells of gloss paint, dust in air, damp smell from new plaster, 3rd room equally dated as first, still dust in air, bed comprised of two uncomfortable old single beds pushed togther, dated fittings and tv, not very clean etc etc....Do not stay here.

Nice hotel under refurbishment
Nice hotel under refurbishment but good service and nice meals. Very quiet area but close to Gatwick airport.

Would prefer a more comfortable mattress. The blankets were lightweight, not luxe. Also, dinner was a disappointment as nobody could suggest any wine for us. The grounds were very relaxing and pretty. The hotel was extremely quiet and soothing.

We have stayed at this hotel many times before locating is great for Gatwick and parking for the week very reasonable. The staff and hotel have always been great, however on this occasion we felt the hotel needs a little t.l.c.shower was poor, had to put the kettle on the floor to reach its plug and the t.v aerial was hanging out. Most of the staff were very good but lacked the sparkle we had seen in the past. Perhaps it was an off day,or from past experiences we had to higher hopes. Still we will use again just a pity to see it slipping a little.

Not 5 star but good
I am going to be harsh because this is a lovely place but the 5 star rating ruins it. It leads you up to thinking you'll have a 5 star luxuary night when you won't. What you do get is a really good, really clean (other than a bug in my shower) room. If this was 4 star I'd of left raving about the place but however it is 5 star and I just expected so much more. If this is 5 star then so are premier inns and holiday inns.
