We had an excellent top over here - the main house and gardens are fabulous, as was th breakfast. The bedroom we had - in a 60's style accommodation block - was very clean, spacious and with a good en suite bathroom. Rather of its time in design, but none the worse for that. Will almost certainly be back, as it is a great halfway point between the SW and the NW.

Good value for money and very pleasant location. The bed was comfortable, shower was good and room facilities were more than adequate with tea coffee etc. The staff were very friendly. Some of the reviews were poor so I nearly didn’t choose this hotel though I’d stay again if I was in the area.

Bleak and basic but fine for a business trip

Rather odd stay at a venue which looked stark and empty. Arrived around 9pm, checked in by security, no information given about breakfast. Room was fine but a little stark and unloved. Broken handles on the wardrobe, broken hangers once you did get it open. Very basic feel to it, although the bed was comfy. Breakfast was an odd affair, all self service, no staff to even greet or seat you and a very basic beige buffet of toast and cereal. No fruit, yoghurt or anything fresh. Not what i expected from the photos or reviews. This feels like a wedding venue that is possibly lovely and busy at weekends but a little bleak mid week.

Clean and convenient for M5 stopover. Lovely Victorian French chateau style architecture with fine views and well kept lawns. Decor not in keeping with house and it has no atmosphere or attributes of a country house hotel. Continental breakfast is included with no option for anything cooked.

On arrival we found most of the staff preoccupied with setting up function rooms for a local school prom which we had been advised prior to arriving was taking place. Received our key at reception and went in search of our bedroom. This was supposed to be an accessible room, it was less than desirable and unfit for a wheelchair user. Luckily I wasnt using my w/c on this trip! Despite requesting step free access and as near as poss to carpark it was a long walk down corridors and steps upto our rooms! We later discovered, by ourselves, there was an emergency/accessible ramp access we could use! But on returning to our room later that evening this access door was locked! The room itself was small and felt stuffy, unaired and in desperate need of some updating/decorating. The headboard was very dusty. Bathroom looked promising but only one bath towel and a hand towel between us! We requested a 2nd towel and was promised this would be forthcoming, but at 11.30PM I was looking for a member of staff to find me the bathtowel! Door handles on corridor doors leading to/from our bedroom to main house were filthy. Not being local we had asked, on our original enquiry, about a taxi service and was assured reception would be able to secure this for us. But this proved not to be the case. We were given 3 business cards of local firms to try! Nothing available. All in all a very dissappointing experience and wouldn't recommend to anyone.
