Fantastic old building with lots of character by the river and in the middle of Tewkesbury. We arrived late and the staff really helpful getting us settled in. We had a good meal in the bar outside by the river. We were there in a heat wave and the staff had gone out of their way to make our room as cool as possible. Really relaxed stay.

Friendly staff, lovely huge size room with a big bed and bathroom with a large bath and shower. The room was well decorated and the bathroom fresh and new. The stay would have been perfect if the weather had been cooler as even with 3 fans going (2 from the hotel and one of our own), the heat in the room was unbearable and when it got cooler in the evening, we were unable to open the windows as they were broken. I believe the building is listed so unable to get air conditioning. We would like to stay again in a cooler time of years.

It is looking a little tired but it's an old "period" building. The bed etc was lovely and clean, the bathroom likewise. The carpet looked scruffy but was probably cleaned, just it's age makes it look a little dirty.

Reasonable location.Shabby street side appearance.Better inside with traditional comfort and reasonably clean appearance. Bedroom clean and comfortable. Staff were agreeable but not overly concerned to be pleasant and helpful, with a few exceptions. Breakfast was okay and freshly cooked, however if you appeared at the latest time there were no smiles and pleasantries. Dinner was very good and outside dining very pleasant.

The Tudor House Hotel was built in 1546. Of course it's been thoroughly modernised since then but it retains much of its rustic charm. There are exposed oak beams everywhere, the stairs and landings creak occasionally, the walls a festooned with portraits of the Tudor kings and queens and the whole layout of the hotel is quirky. It's really lovely. However, if modern, Hilton-esque decor is your 'thing' then this hotel is not for you. We stayed in one of their superior double rooms which was spacious and very comfortable. We only ate in the restaurant once but we were very satisfied with the menu and with the food we ordered. Overall, we had an excellent three night stay at the Tudor House Hotel in Tewkesbury.
