Budget and location alright... the rest, "meh"
Budget location is great. Now bed are not vert comfy, and the fact that there is a pub right underneath it, it leave you sleepless with the drunks staying until pass midnight, and, unfortunately, the windows do not stop any noise coming in.

The all female dorm rooms are on the 5th floor and the lift is broken. This is a round stairwell and it is a hard climb after walking the hills of Edinburgh. Ask if the lift is fixed BEFORE you book it.

Convenient, Central hostel.
The hostel is in a central location, a minute’s Walk from the Royal Mile. Smart and modernly decorated. The bed was comfy, the room warm and the shower good. My only complaints were that the lift was broken and the floor in the bedroom was very squeaky.

Good hostel stay, clean and quite fresh, slightly pricey for being a hostel and sharing with so many people.
