We stayed there for 4 nights - during the 'Beast from the East' week. We requested Eve, at the reception, to kindly re-assign us to a room with a bath (it was on 3rd floor) and she promptly did so. But the room was cold as a fridge! Bathroom floor was freezing cold so the following morning we asked Ashley, at the reception, to provide us with some bathroom slippers. He very politely said he didn’t have any at the time. In the evening we asked James (probably the Mgr) for the slippers, he was rude; not when he said someone misinformed us but when we complaint about the how cold the room was, we were told - “So, what do you want me to do about it then?” Our booking was in two parts so we had to move to a different room, on the 1st floor, which was nice & warm, but walls were paper thin! We could hear the kettle boiling from the one wall and someone taking shower from the opposite one! The windows are ALL single glazed so not only you get the cold draught but you're also privy to all the dodgy dealings that happens in the alley way next to it. To top it up, either the bar emptied the bottles in the bins on the street next to the room or it may be bin collection and almost everyday around 4-5AM ish we were woken up by loud noise of glass bottles being emptied.
The nicest bit of the hotel was their lounges, nicely placed vintage furniture! And the other nice bit was that the subordinate staff (Eve & Ashley) were very courteous but their manager (James) totally failed.
