Standard experience
The rooms are very small, there is now coffee-making facilities and the overall feel was that you were staying in bedroom within a house. The hotel has really high ratings - but I just didn't experience this.

Friendly, very close to town centre. The room we had was immediately opposite the. Breakfast room in the basement and noise transmits easily so not ideal room if you don't want to wake up too early. Otherwise clean, comfortable.

Great stay
Arrived at almost midnight but was given a very warm welcome. Lovely room and breakfast was great. Only stayed 1 night but would definitely stay again!!

Room was not bad for one night stay. We had a basement room and the street noise was quiet loud in the morning. Bathroom was very small and had no fan or ventilation. Be aware the water in Reykjavik has a strong smell that gets stronger when warmer water is run.

There are better places to stay.
We were put in one of the basement rooms with a great view of the sidewalk even with curtains closed. The venting in the bathroom was the worst of any in our week in Iceland. We were lectured about the sulfur smell in all hot water when we asked about it. The queen bed we were supposed to have turned out to be two singles pushed together. And while we were trying to figure that seam out, we found the mattresses we had slept on were old, torn, and stained.
