Just outside the old town. Helpful staff but the building is really old, clean though. No refrigerator in our room.

Very disappointing
While we knew this was quite a basic hotel, we had still expected it to be ok since we had read good reviews about it on trip advisor. However, when we arrived, we discovered this was far from the case. The room was on the second floor, up a crumbling staircase and along an unlit corridor. The door to our room did not close without us locking ourselves in. It was the smallest I have ever seen with barely enough room for a double bed and the shower room had been built into what looked like a cupboard. The rooms on the website were described as 'stylish modern apartments' but this room could not possibly be described as such. There were supposed to be self catering facilities but I don't think a kettle merits this description. Our room was clearly not one of the rooms pictured on the website. We immediately went back to reception and asked to be changed rooms but the receptionist said there weren't any others available. We had arrived at 11am and told to come back at 1pm as our room wasn't ready yet - we must have been one of the first people to check in. Whether there were other rooms available or not, I'm not sure. We weren't sure whether to just put up with the room or not as were only there for a couple of nights and didn't want to waste time and money looking for alternative accommodation, however we decided we wouldn't be able to enjoy our trip if we stayed there and so for the first time ever for either of us, we checked out without staying.

Misleading pictures of the rooms, good location
During my 3-day stay at ApartHotel Siesta it would be worth to point out that I was staying on the ground floor next to the reception therefore I faced the problem that since the rooms are not well isolated I could hear every single noise happening outside the room (for example, arrival of guests at night, even the cough or movement of the receptionist) which was quite disappointing, especially for me who cannot easily sleep at night. Apart from that, the room did not reach my expectations compared to the pictures I saw online, therefore I could say that the photos online are misleading (at least for sure at the room I stayed in). Other than that, he hotel staff was friendly and helpful and the rooms were clean.

Good location, spacious and clean room
The room was very spacious with 4 beds, 2 beds were put together as a double. Kettle, table, chairs and wardrobe were in the room and still plenty of space. Only thing that was missing was a fridge which would have made it a perfect stay. The bathroom had a hairdryer and amenities such as soap and shampoo were replaced daily. The condition of the hotel in the stairway was a bit worn down but the rooms were in good condition. Staff were friendly and helpful pointing out local attractions on a free map given at check in. The main train station, including a shopping gallery, was a 10 minute walk away, trains could be taken to nearby places such as Auschwitz (2 hours) and Wieliczka Salt Mine (20 mins) . The market square and Wawel castle were also within a 5-10 minute walk. There were plenty of shops and bakeries around the surrounding area; many open till late and restaurants were mostly found around the market square area so were within easy walking distance.

Take earplugs
We booked our room as a family of 4 and ended up with the loft room on the bottom floor. The trade off was we didn't have to climb stairs but the noise from walking from the floors above us was very bad. The TV buzzed loudly so watching BBC was almost painful and the clearance in the loft was just enough to crawl into bed. I use earplugs when I sleep in hotels and this helped a lot. Kuddos to the staff at this hotel. They were extremely accomadating by allowing us to put some things in their fridge, calling our taxis and allowing us to leave our luggage while we did some sightseeing on our last day in Krakow.
