This was the best hotel ive ever stayed in, why? The staff are tremendous, everyone smiles, nothing is too much work, I was there while my husband was in hospital for a bypass operation, & the staff were like a big warm hug.

Room was nice. Got in found long black hairs in the washroom which couldn't be mine. I cleaned it and put it on the towels for it to be cleaned the next day. Some black hairs were still there which was unfortunate. Asked to have late check out for an hour and they didn't accommodate. Overall experience was fair but it could be much better.

We had a wonderful stay at The Scholar. The room was wonderful and very clean, the team was very polite and attentive (we received a wonderful hand written note as we were celebrating a special occasion, which was such a thoughtful touch!). It’s a 30 minute walk from the old town but the bus stop is right outside the hotel with regular buses. There was no mini fridge in the room, although we didn’t need it. Would definitely recommend.
