Great base, clean, comfy, spacious room
Very handy location and nice clean, comfy, spacious room. Reasonable value for money. Great base to explore the excellent real ale pubs of Huddersfield and the fantastic Transpennine rail ale trail.

Sleepless night
Tv didn’t work, moved rooms still didn’t work and then in the second room all I could hear was the fridge and a dripping noise

A fine overnight stay in Huddersfield
Sorry guys, I've turned into a hotel inspector! This hotel has the possibility of being a 4* hotel as it has the basics and opportunity to improve. Furnishings are of a good quality and staff are attentive. Safe Parking. A sturdy building and quality finishes. Breakfast selection is good, a little more flavour would make it great. Good internet connection. A little more attention to cleaning (dirty soap bottle)/redo silicon in bathroom and it would be up with the best of my business overnight stays. My colleagues stay here regularly. There is a good working space downstairs that the management was happy for us to sit and have a meeting/coffee. There may be some short stay/undesirable residents which bring the hotel down, but perhaps this is needed financially? Apologies if I'm a bit of a snob...

Best value I've ever found.
Stayed here so many times I've lost count. The facilities in the rooms are second to none - iron and ironing board, good hairdrier and a fridge. The beds are very comfortable and there's a choice of different types of pillow. The free wifi is very reliable. It's very convenient for the centre of town and easily walkable from the railway station. If, like me, you're driving there's ample free parking so you can leave your car and walk into town to eat in one of Huddersfields many good restaurants. They do food if you don't want to leave the hotel, it is a pretty basic menu but convenient if you're tired and don't want to go out. I gather the breakfast is outstanding but I'm not a breakfast eater so can't comment from personal experience. Been very tempted once in a while though to stray from my green tea and breakfast biscuits in my room. As with every hotel, no matter how good the facilities are it all comes down to the staff and here they're wonderful. This is a budget hotel with a 5* welcome and I wouldn't stay anywhere else when visiting the area.
