Pity I had to complain to get a great stay.....
Allocated ground floor room, even though I requested higher level? 2nd night disturbed by guest in apartment above, reported to reception at 10pm? 3rd night same again reported at 11pm, no effect at midnight I dealt with it personally requested a room change? nothing available, until I said I would look to move elsewhere, then a room became available in another block, top floor, no further disturbances great result and enjoyed the rest of my stay

Lovely suite but absolutely no service what so ever. No room clean. No fresh towels for 5 days. Spa poor - no staff and therefore very few treatments actually available. Disappointing.

Good hotel
Rooms were good size. Well equipped kitchen. Shower unpredictable. Free underground parking. Location was a little far from Canmore for us after long days in The Rockies - 20 minute walk.

First trip west
First trip travelling to Western Canada, and wasn't sure exactly what to expect. The Deer Lodge had an AMAZING great room- roaring fire and comfy chairs. perfect to have a cup of tea and rest after a day hiking. Travelling in May i was surprised how much snow was left, which disrupted our sightseeing. the Lake was still frozen over, and many of the tourist attractions. The staff were excellent and were happy to assist in any manner. The room was a bit smaller then anticipated, and quite honestly a bit dated - part of the charm - but the bathrooms/furniture including the bed could use a major overhaul! Felt like staying at someones cottage rather then an upscale lodge. The food was good, but pricey for the quality but expected given the lack of choice and isolated area.

Enjoyable Stay
We had a great stay at Solara Resort and Spa. Our suite was nicely decorated and had all the comforts of home. The full kitchen was great with all top-brand appliances. Most of our time in the area was spent exploring Banff National Park. This hotel is very close to the park and it was nice coming "home" every evening to such a comfortable place.
