Gothic quirkyness
I have stayed here more than 50 times and I love the location as it relates to the town and the customer that I visit. Its quirky and there is always something just a little bit off centre, I always sleep well, the beds are comfortable and the staff are very pleasant. However I did have to complain about holes in the towel, a cracked cup and a seat for the desk which looked like somebody had done an oil change on it. All duly reported on check out. Place could do with a lick of paint in places but I guarantee I will be heading there next time I stay.

The hotel is ok but needs a renovation!

All in all a good stay but could have been better. Room large but could do with a freshen up.

Business stay
a lovely old house with a converted stable block - plenty of free parking, lovely grounds. Our room was in the stable block and although the room wasn't huge, it had everything we needed. Breakfast was plentiful and the service was great throughout our stay

Grand but needs attention
I have stayed here many times and generally love the hotel it’s shabby splendour and its quirkiness as well as the friendliness of the staff. Very comfortable bed good size rooms are very welcome while some of the furniture and decor could do with updating. I would strongly suggest that they do something about the menu and also ensure they provide better and faster bar service.
