We were so pleasantly surprised by our stay. We expected a simple hotel that would be all we needed for a location near an event we were attending, but we totally underestimated things. The building is beautiful, our room was clean, well decorated and comfortable, all staff we spoke to were lovely, and both our dinner in the cocktail bar and breakfast in the dining room were good quality.

I return to Greenock frequently and was delighted to see the hotel has been renovated. The room was small but so much better for the renovation. Unfortunately it seems to have staffing problems. The barmaid was very stressed since she needed more help. We ordered food but it took so long to come we almost cancelled. It was average when it came. Breakfast was cold since burners not lit. After being shown to table that was last we saw of any staff in breakfast area. Hopefully service will improve- Greenock needs a good hotel.

What a pleasant surprise to walk into our room, the room was lovely decorated and felt welcoming. The cleanliness of the both the bathroom and bedroom was of a high standard, lovely clean carpets and furniture. The bed and pillows were really comfortable. The atmosphere in the bar was really nice and the bar staff attentive and friendly. Also it was great to be able to park my car right outside the hotel, very convenient. The hotel was quiet throughout the night which added to a peaceful night. Over all a very pleasant stay and I would have no doubts about staying at the Tontine hotel again.
