Lovely old building
Lovely old building. It is a pub, restaurant & hotel. We had a huge room with 4 poster bed which was very comfortable. Everything was clean & tidy. The staff were all very friendly. Nothing to complain about. Thoroughly enjoyed oud stay & would recommended. 👍

Good 6.0
The hotel is nice but the rooms need some attention. Mattress was thin and not comfortable. Also need to upgrade to quilts not blankets. The heating in the room didn’t work and the small heater provided packed up in the night so woke up cold. With a few upgrades it could be fantastic.

One night stay for work. Friday night stop over and pub was fairly busy on arrival. Staff were great though and no waiting, shown to room straight away. Quick shower then down to have something to eat in the bar. Food was good and live music on. Nice continental breakfast in morning but have to specify time you want to eat the previous evening?? Cooked breakfast is extra £7 per person but continental does the job with cereals, toast, croissants and fruit as well as your tea, coffee and juice. Would stay here again if in the area and overall a pleasant stay.... great beer garden if staying in the summer!!

Lots of noise in my room from the bar.

Beautiful room with supersized portions.
On arrival I was greeted nicely and shown to my room. I stayed in the Biko room and on entry had a wow factor. It was decorated in a Aztec theme with a high ceiling and exposed beams. It was clean and had a good sized bathroom and solid wood furniture. The room had teas and coffees and even a hot chocolate with biscuits. The food in the restaurant was in an extensive menu and is well cooked, but be sure to be hungry and the portions are giant! The service from the team was excellent both for evening meal and breakfast, The only criticism I had was my bath was lukewarm when filling it with only hot water and some drunken revellers on one evening.
