Poor food
Dinner was poor steak pie was something you would buy from Asda wife had stir fry and at £17 was also very poor and extreamly over priced waitress didn’t know what a shandy was

Hotel was dated and messy but staff was helpful didn't send the right information to the hotel. Giving me a double bed instead of two singles as instructed. Admittedly, the hotel tried to resolve this but it took 6 hours (from 3pm to 9.30pm) for us to be in the room proper.

Birthday Night Out in Edinburgh
We arrived about 4pm and Reception was very busy with both members of staff busy. We were checked in to a room which was still in the process of being cleaned/prepared but this was rectified when raised with Reception staff. Room was really nice and we were given a Complimentary Drink voucher as I was celebrating my Birthday with this overnight stay in Edinburgh. Staff were friendly and helpful (if a bit flustered and busy!). Hotel was clean, and very nice but 3 of the 4 lifts were not working, although we were on the first floor so using the stairs wasn’t a great hassle. Plenty car parking spaces when we arrived but these filled up during the evening. £8 for 24 hours parking. Hotel is fairly near to the very Centre of Edinburgh and was a good location for my Birthday meal in George Street (taxi was about £6). Lovely hotel with very tasteful decor and I would definitely be happy to stay there again and would be happy to recommend to family and friends.

Avoid peak time for breakfast
Hotel room clean and tidy, breakfast (I went down just after 8A on a Monday) was a bit busy leading to no glasses for juice, and plates etc. left on tables with what seemed one or two staff trying to cope with the hundreds of people. Admittedly I had been warned by reception that between 7-8 it was busy, maybe I should have left it another half an hour. Other than that it was a pleasant stay

Nice but not a 4 star
We arrived at the hotel for 2 but check in wasn’t until 3. We ended up leaving our luggage in the car and walking around Edinburgh. We arrived back at 6 to check in. It was busy at check in as a coach full of people had just arrived. The girl was very helpful and checked us in quickly. We got to our room eventually only one lift working out of 2. Our room was nice but the tv wasn’t working and the carpet outside the bathroom was wet and smelled of poo!! We asked for another room but the receptionist said that they were fully booked. This spoiled it for us. On a positive the hotel was on a great location 10 min walk onto princes street. Car park behind the hotel was £8 for 24 hrs. The breakfast was really good. Also checkout was for 12. The bed was comfy but the room was hot during the night even tho we had the window open. I would stay here again for the location and parking but I wouldn’t say it was a 4 star hotel.
