Aquae Sulis Guest House
Slightly disappointing
An ok stay but nothing more. The positives - Lovely comfy bed, lots of space in bedroom, excellent shower. However there seemed to be a lack of attention to detail though throughout the hotel. Surfaces in room were very dusty - especially on the bedside lamp and the radiators. Drinks were never replenished although milks were. Cups in the room were left unwashed. Service at breakfast was adequate but distant - staff seemed reluctant to engage with customers. Breakfast itself was average. Lincolnshire sausages advertised but they had never seen Lincolnshire. Brioche bread and croissants on menu but none to be seen. Beans served cold one morning. And the board outside and the website mention Sky Sports, which certainly wasn't available in our room. Would we stay again? Probably not as the negatives outweighed the positives

Warm Welcome
Loved our stay. Warm welcome, delicious breakfast. A walk into the city meant we could leave the car at the hotel and avoid city parking fees. Great hotel.

Great base for Bath & nearby countryside.
I stayed for just one night while on business in the area. Friendly welcome and room/bedding clean and comfortable. I was alone so the very small room and 4 foot bed were absolutely fine. My room was a nice cheap deal because the bathroom (for which I was the only user) was a couple of doors along the landing. The bathroom was also very clean and a lovely hot shower in the morning. My first floor room was at the front of the building overlooking the road - great on the cool day I was there but can imagine it getting noisy in warmer weather with the window open. Free off-road parking at the front of the building plus on the street outside. It's apparently a half hour walk into Bath but as it was raining, I ate at the Bridge a ten minute walk back along the Newbridge Road (next to the Park and Ride) - lovely pub overlooking the river with a great choice of beers and a good menu (although the vegan options were very pricey for what they were). As I had to leave early in the morning before the 7:30 early breakfast time, they kindly served me toast and coffee before I hit the road, which was very much appreciated. Good free wifi was a bonus too.
