Hotel Kansai, Osaka

Very convenient, friendly, clean
Very friendly, really close to main train station district, clean. I was a bit worried about staying here as had read previous reviews. However I was pleasantly surprised and would recommend. Yes, it is not the newest building however it is clean (no different to standard Japanese business hotel) and staff really helpful. Very good value given central station locality. Good if arriving late into town in needing early train.

it's very old and bed is not comfortable. the hotel is not that clean comparing in Japan standard and average. it's cheap for a night. you can clearly hear the voice from next room.

Near Umeda subway station and Osaka station. Umeda underground shopping centre is the largest in Japan but difficult find yr direction, like a maze.

Dirty and terrible hotel
When I checked in, I was told that my booking was only paid for 2 adults while my reservation was clearly for a triple bedroom. Who would be stupid enough to book a triple room for 2 adults? Anyway, we ended up paying extra around 4,300 Yen just because we were already very tired to argue with the hotel. The room was not as good as I expected. I mean, I knew from reading the other reviews that it's quite an old property, but this is quite terrible. The cleanliness was poor, the bathroom and toilet were so bad, and our window was facing the back of the hotel which is full of pipes and AC fans. The receptionists were not so friendly, which surprised us the most because out of all properties that we stayed in Japan, they were always smiling and very polite to the guests. I hate the location of the hotel, it's quite difficult to reach from Osaka JR Station if you do not know the way from the underground. If you take the walk on the street level, you ended up taking a longer route because there are some streets which you cannot cross over. However, finding the way in the underground was also very challenging, so we always got lost. The hotel is located at the Pachinko and Slot's places neighborhood in Umeda area, so it's always very busy at night. We stayed there during the weekend, and saw a lot of drunk people on the street. If you like bars and play slot machines, maybe this is the best hotel for you to stay, but definitely not family friendly location.

Convenient hotel but pretty grim overall
Good location but grim hotel. Very friendly staff. The carpet was filthy. The room was small and you could feel the springs in the bed. Also the window was frosted so you couldn't see out. Pretty average overall
