Stay in York very good. Hotel ok. But parking is a joke. Would not rush back to stay at this hotel.

Great Location to City Centre
Hotel location was perfect. Accessing it however was a chaos with a tiny parking lot with minimal space to turn around, and finding a place to park was a bear. Finally landed in a car park nearby. I will not be doing that again. Room was nice however once checked in. Clean. Nice big tv. Bed, however, way too firm. Hard. Therefore sleep during night non-existent with continued side-switching. I didn’t think a Hilton would be that uncomfortable. Staff were welcoming and wonderful.

Bad room
Two night stay, single woman staying alone I was put in an outside room in a separate building. Did not feel safe however the night got worse with rodents in the ceiling space above my room ! Scratching and squeaking and mice running around above my head all night . Complained in the morning and the woman on the desk couldn’t do enough to apologise with a room upgrade and free wine. Which was fantastic but makes me think they knew about this problem and I imagine more people will be put in the block of rooms and the rodent issue will continue. Also suggest not putting women who are alone in a room away from the main hotel with a door straight outside.

2/10 Poor

Disappointed
This was a birthday treat for my husband along with racing at Elvington. The price of the room was high.. Through Expedia... However the room was dire. External to main building room 51. The decor is warn and needs refurbishment. Extremely small room at the top of numerous stairs and stairs actually in the room... Split level to which husband slipped down them as they are so steep and dangerous. I was going to ask to be moved but hubbie didnt want to make a fuss. Did mention at checkout and receptionist not really bothered. Overall not a great experience

Mother and daughter weekend
Stayed for two nights with my daughter, we arrived in york in the morning and asked the hotel if we could leave our bags there until we checked in later, staff were very friendly and accommodating. As soon as we walked into hotel we noticed how immaculate all areas were. After a day of shopping we checked in, we were staying in a twin room. Our room was very roomy and immaculate. Beds were so comfortable and the extra touches in the bathroom ie free toiletries were good quality. Even though it was November we didn’t need the heating as the room was really nice and hot. We didn’t eat in the hotel but we did use the bar a couple of times yet again the staff were very friendly, the bar area is really good, comfortable chairs, sofas, alcoves. Would certainly recommend this hotel I have no complaints at all, just praise and it is so close to the minster and all of York’s attractions. Have stopped at york a few times and I would say this hotel is the best I have stayed. Will certainly be back

Great Hotel - Good position
I was surprised to find that the (limited) parking available cost £20 per night. However, this was waived after consultation. There is a Council carpark down the road which costs £15 per night.

I was disappointed with the room.it was a family room with only one chair. No mirror on dressing table and very little shelving in bathroom.
